Description

Bit of a story on this one.
So this was my grandfathers truck and he gave it to me when I was 13. I took it apart and it sat for the better part of 17 years. I had the flathead rebuilt which sat in a barn for 10 years and is currently sitting in a machine shop waiting to get freshened up/looked at to make sure its still in good usable shape. The truck is a F1 despite the badging. So about a year ago I had someone buy the giant pile of parts and they assembled the little truck with a "good running" y-block. They put the f2 badges and front brakes on the truck because it what they had laying around. They also put the 3/4 differential under the truck as well. Their thinking was that they put bigger brakes on it. The original diff was fried and the front springs on the truck were broke on one side. I ended up with a super clean 50 Chevrolet COE that they couldn't live without and a trade was made. I got the 52 back and they got the COE.Fast forward a few months and I figured that I would check the engine out to make sure it was as good as they said. Well as anyone that has been around old cars knows that a "good running" engine is usually the opposite of what it is. The 3 anti-fowlers were a dead give away. So the engine is a 292 that needed 60 (312 20 over) over to get it going again on the walls. It has a new crank because the old one wasn't even turnable. Everything else in the engine is new. While in rome I had the shop put in a brand new Isky 301333 270 duration cam. I had 90lb springs installed and new lifters to match the cam. I also have a eldelbrock 3deuceintake with 3 matching holley 94's for it. This engine was built by the Albuquerque Napa Machine Shop and have built me many more engines in the past. I trust these people unconditionally.Body wise the truck is great. Its not perfect. It had one lower panel missing on the front fenders that you can see was replaced with one that has a few small rust holes in it. There has been some dents here and there. The only serious rust is in the bottom of the tailgate. I haven't gone over the truck with a magnifying glass to find more rust but seeing it lived here all of its life it looks as rust free and your going to find on any 50's vehicle that sat in a field for 40+ years. The seat was one I had laying around and has been recovered some time ago. All of the glass needs replaced. I justreceiveda new 3 core radiator for the truck that should work with the y-block. The truck is really complete as far as small items. I have the original steering wheel and I have the headlight covers which are not in the pictures.
My plan for the truck was to slap some new glass, wiring harness, odds and ends, and drive the truck as it is. But.......I just got back from the hospital where my wife has delivered us twin boys that I am extremelyecstaticabout, and I found out that a job I bid on is getting jerked around they will more than likely not go forward with it at all. So with those 2 statements most of you know money is important and I don't have any right now.
The way I'm going to do this is setup up a buy it now for 10k. If you want the whole package that's what its going to cost you. You areresponsiblefor shipping. The truck doesn't have a title because New Mexico is a royal nightmare to procure one. I can get one but it will take some time. If you buy the truck for the asking price, me jumping through thefiery hoops of dmv hell to procure you a clean new title will happen. If you don't want the engine then send me a message and send an offer. I will discuss it with you before an agreement is made. Feel free to make an offer of any kind the worst I can do is say no. If you are interested in the falthead, y-block, title, etc with the truck or without or any varying degree of me selling this will beentertainedif you make a fair offer.DO not message me with "I used to buy and sell these trucks for a nickel and you should sell this to me for that." I'm getting sick and tired of trying to sell things and everyone likes to remind me that at one point these weren't worth scrap prices. Maybe that's why they are getting harder to find? Thank you for you views and to whomever buys this I amindebtedto you.
So if you have no intention of paying for this item when you buy it please don't. I do not take payments as I am not a bank. This cost me money that I don't have to relist every time. Please figure out you financing before you buy it. If you have a 0 feedback score I will request you verify the funds with your bank before I accept you offer.
