Original steel body painted 1940 Mandarin Maroon and frame painted Imron black, Completely restored 392 cu Chrysler Hemi V-8, bored .10 over, already broken in Set up for 1957 Chrysler 300-C specifications Engine modifications includes Joe Hunt rebuilt Vertex Magneto, stainless steel valves, both intake and exhaust, polished ports, 9-quart finned oil pan and Moon valve covers both polished, with original stainless single breathers on each of them, and 100 amp chromed GM generator Custom stainless steel exhaust system with echo cans (the sound will blow your mind, just reeking with horsepower: V-8 Chevies and Mustangs: look out! Chrysler 833-A heavy duty four-speed, with Hurst linkage, connected to the engine with blow-proof adapter with 11 inch Dodge truck clutch and flywheel Sheiffer quick-change solid-spooled 9 inch Ford rear axle: 4:11 or 5:36 ratios, with original split chromed radius rods, modified mounting brackets and first generation Palemides 8.5 inch mag kidney rims Front end is and original Ed “Axle” Stewart’s 3-inch drop axle, chromed and filled, Ford heavy duty disc brakes and heavy duty GM calipers, with stainless steel spring, original split chrome tie-rod ends with first generation 4-inch American Mag wheels (super rare!) The louvered top of the hood has been removed and can be sent to the builder Doug’s Street Rods in Frenchtown New Jersey, for free refinishing to remove “orange peel.” For show appearance, remove the four mag rims, have them bead-blasted and coated as they will immediately start to oxidize, as well as install inner tubes in all four tires as three of the tires deflate because of the rims, an issue with all mag wheels because them come from drag racing machines. Also, to make this a prize-winning show car, the pot metal 600 cfm Edelbrock secondary should be replaced by a chrome version of that carburetor, about a $360 investment. The owner is selling this car for tens of thousands of dollars less than were invested because one wire that has turned off the mag as a safety feature, needs to be sorted out with builders directions, and the above suggestions for up grading the car will require as much as a thousand more in investment to make it show quality: Annual Bakersfield Reunion and Bonneville Speed Week, here you come!
