Front Disc Brakes. Leather Seats. Power Steering. Tilt Wheel SELLER REMARKS There are quite a few nice Ford F-100s in our inventory. but if you're want show quality that you can drive. there's only one: this 1956 Ford F-100 custom cab. Built by John Dunn and the recipient of awards like a Top Ten award at the 2014 F-100 nationals (700 trucks). Ford Truck Pick at the 2014 Goodguys Spring Nationals. and the winner of the Semi-Custom Truck class at the 2014 Dallas Auto-Rama. Yeah. it's fresh and it's ready to start collecting some trophies for you! It's GM Torch Red. but don't fret. Ford guys. this one still has that traditional F-100 look and it's simply dazzling. Show-quality trucks don't grow on trees and once you've seen this truck next to what most folks consider "nice trucks. you'll never look at pickups the same again. The finish is impossibly deep and shiny. and while we never use the word "perfect" around here. we're having trouble coming up with proper descriptors for this one. Fit and finish are superb. there are hundreds of hours tied up in the final finishing of the metal. and with just a few tasteful modifications. this truck delivers eyeball-popping good looks without disturbing the original design. Dig the crease running down the center of the hood. the beautifully flared fenders. and the Hardrock Maple wood bed out back. as well as the beautiful chrome grille that's arguably the F-100's most distinctive feature. The bumpers are simple. the tailgate is smoothed. and blue dot taillights give it a traditional custom look from behind. Traditional is how we'd describe the interior. which uses black and tan leather in a '50s pleated pattern to give the truck a big upgrade without shouting about it. It's comfortable. supportive. and perfectly in tune with the '50s sensibility of the F-100. On the other hand. the upgraded dash with Auto Meter white-faced instruments. an under-dash A/C unit. and a chrome tilt steering column all make it a lot more pleasant to drive than the original. Plus carpets and matching door panels soften the F-100's rough edges and the red paint inside is as expertly finished as the bodywork. New weather-stripping was used throughout to help it seal up well and eliminate squeaks and rattles and the original style steering wheel is a nice touch. The 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 isn't radical. but the attention to detail under the hood is why this one has collected all those awards. With finned valve covers and a matching air cleaner. the engine is anonymized enough to simply be part of the design and extra work went into hiding the wiring and plumbing to keep it neat. The accessories are tucked in close to the block and it's built for reliability with a big radiator and electric fan up front. The firewall and inner fenders were smoothed and painted to match the body. so they make an awesome background for the nicely finished V8. and anything that wasn't polished or painted red is simply satin black to kind of blend in. The front clip is a from a '72 Chevelle and includes disc brakes and power steering and a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and 3. 50 gears in a 9-inch make it a great driver. The chassis is clean and very brightly detailed. which is what you get with show-quality professional builds. and the striking Billet Specialties wheels wear 235/55/18 front and 235/55/20 Michelin radials. Exquisitely built and showing just 2719 miles on the build. this is a show truck that demands attention everywhere it goes. One of the best we've ever seen.
