Description

***Reasonable Reserve Please Bid to Own - Zero Feedback eBayers. Please Contact me Before Bidding***Extremely clean. garage kept 99. 9999% original 1986 Mustang GT T-Top. Original born-with Gatorbacks. I believe the Motorcraft battery is original too. Only two things non-original: (1) it has a battery tender installed; and. (2) I had a quarter size dent in the rear fender lip repaired and they had to repaint just the fender lip. the flat strip of metal that goes around the wheel well. You cannot tell it has been painted there at all. All other paint is original paint. Car is in fabulous condition -- most of these have horrible interiors because the T-tops leak. This one was a one owner car when I got it (it may show on CarFax as two prior owners; I purchased it from someone who bought it from the original owner and immediately flipped it to me). Always garage kept. The easiest way for me to describe the car is to say to you that if you walked onto a used car dealer's lot in 1988 or 1989 and saw this car there with 21k miles. it'd have looked. run and driven as it does now. Very well preserved in and out. Interior is near mint. When I got it. T-tops had never been off car (or so I was told and it appeared that way). I have taken them off three times. Rear tonneau cover is mint and works as intended. T-Top covers included and are mint. too. Has original Marchan fog light covers on it. still. (These are rare and expensive to find. )Everything works. A/C is ICE cold. Remember what a V8 with R12 feels like? It will literally freeze you out. That cold. Battery can be finicky if you don't keep posts clean. I take a Black & Decker jump box with me when I drive it. I will include it with the car for $45 extra at buyer's option. Car comes with custom fit cover designed for the 1986 Mustang GT. Only quirk I've found is that the yellow "low fuel" light sometimes comes on for no apparent reason; it is getting less frequent as I've driven the car. Fuel gauge is accurate and works 100% of the time. though. (Other gauges work as intended. too. )As I've said. paint is 99% original paint. Go over it with a magnet tester. you'll see -- they did when I had the fender fixed because the shop owner is a Mustang enthusiast and couldn't believe the paint was all original but he confirmed it is -- no other paintwork except what he later did for me. No dings (there may be one somewhere. but there are zero I've noticed and I am a freak about my cars. Has 2 pen point size chips in the paint; 1 more smaller than a pencil eraser. None of them go through the grey primer. They are easily touched up. but I haven't so new buyer can inspect and see them. Also has a very small (about 1. 5") spot on driver's side of car where the front bumper wraps around where yellow shows through where it rubbed someone. And. a similar 2" scratch on rear bumper. NOTE: Original Gatorbacks may look great but they are dangerously hard. Tread is thin. I have a set of four (4) OEM correct size Gatorbacks off a 1985 GT that have excellent tread (see pic with penny) on them that can be put on the car for shows; they have been stored property but are finally showing some cracking if you look between treads. I have driven the car. but I would not advise a buyer to drive the car on tires so old. All tires -- on the car and the 4 spares -- are being sold for "display" purposes only. I can tell you that you have to think ahead to stop; wheels lock if you brake hard. especially if you've not warmed the tires up thoroughly. The extra four (4) Gatorbacks go with the car ONLY for the Buy It Now price. They are worth $1000-$1200; and. at any price below the BIN. I am keeping them and selling them separately. I have 8 cars -- this 86 Mustang GT. nbsp;two BM 323i's. two 560SELs. n '06 CTS-V. '13 Rubicon -- and need to sell a couple to make way for a new '15 Jeep Wrangler I just bought the wife. I have a lift and a mechanic who works on all my cars. my motorhome and my motorcycles 2 days a month. You are invited to bring your mechanic and inspect and test drive it. Car is sold as is where is with no warranties express or implied. I'm not a dealer. I am not a car expert. By day I'm a lawyer and I've not worked on a car since this one was new :) $1. 00 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. Shipping buyer's responsibility. but I will work with your shipper to coordinate pick up. Email any questions or to coordinate a test drive. Car for sale locally; I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
