In the name of both reliability and performance, it's common practice for traditional street rods to employ souped-up versions of proven powertrains. However instead of opting for a typical LS or 350 that it admittedly left the shop with. The owners decided to replace the common engine with a dressed up potent Chevy Performance ZZ383 stroker crate engine that cranks out an impressive 450hp. At the top of the engine you'll find a $700 March Performance Billet Aluminum air cleaner that gives the engine bay an aggressive look. Once air enters that filter, it flows through an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor into an Edelbrock intake. From there spent gasses travel out AHC coated Block Hugger tight-fit headers into a true dual exhaust. Cooling comes courtesy of a polished aluminum radiator that's complete with a chrome cap and a large quick-spinning electric puller fan. Aesthetically, the glossy engine compartment combines with the motor's mirror-like casting to provide a natural contrast which oozes performance appeal. The net result is a buttery smooth, muscle-bound V8 that, through its distinctive rumble, foretells the car's true hot rod nature.
Under this Ford's well-planned and professionally executed powerplant you'll find a whole catalogue of custom performance parts which mix great aesthetics with excellent driving dynamics. A completely chromed out suspension, which is complete with chrome coil over shocks, produces thoroughly modern ride and handling characteristics. At the center of that first-rate suspension, a Kilbourne chassis hangs a polished TH350 3-speed automatic transmission in front of a Ford 9" rear-end with 3.50 gears. At the corners of that first-rate suspension, polished 14" and 15" American Racing wheels roll P195/70ZR14 front Goodyears in front of P255/70R15 rear BF Goodrich rubber. Quick acceleration is provided by a large 16-gallon fuel tank that makes good use of braided fuel lines. Quicker stops are provided by big front disc and rear drum brakes. And a killer soundtrack is provided by a polished true dual exhaust system which routes spent gases through aggressive Flowmaster mufflers to dumps that empty out right in front of the gas tank. Exceptionally clean and completely detailed for show, the bottom of this roadster includes professionally finished floorpans that are sprayed to match its stunning exterior panels.
Inside this awesome roadster 'simple' is the name of the game as a spectacular tan leather interior, which features alligator skin inserts, creates a fun and stylish contrast to the car's red exterior. The leather seats are firm, supportive and provide a surprising amount of leg room. At the sides of those seats, sculpted panels hang stylish large leather pulls that feature more alligator skin inserts. Below those panels, like-new carpet props leather piped floor mats between a floor-mounted brake pedal, a chrome, and a firewall-mounted go pedal. On top of that carpet, a custom leather console features two cup holders, AM/FM/CD player, and the controls for the air conditioning. And in front of that console, a custom-painted dash hangs simple Dolphin gauges, more impressive pinstripping, billet AC vents and a stylish leather firewall cover. And in front of the driver, a polished steering wheel spins a leather wrapped rim around a polished tilt steering column and a full set of billet accessory stalks, including the controls for the 4-speed automatic.
In short, this spectacular '32 Ford roadster is the perfect street rod for someone who wants a fully-sorted cruiser that'll tear up the roads and take home trophies.
