Description

1953 FORD C600 50th ANNIVERSARY COE TRUCK1953 is the 50th anniversary for ford, and this has a 50th anniversary horn button. This is a clean old truck, and the flathead V8 runs excellent. There are a lot of creative ways people have restored these trucks. They put flatbeds, ramp bodies, rollbacks, campers, and pickup boxes on them. Regular 8-9' stepside boxes from the era look great. I can help you find a box but they are not too difficult to find. Reproduction box parts and fenders are probably sold, but I have not checked. I've seen custom crew cabs built out of these coe trucks suburbans/panels too. There are a couple pics of panels/deliveries that are really cool. I like the red coe/pickup with flames the best and I can see this one built like that. Or the red '51 tow truck. This '53 had a grain box on it previously and the hydraulic system and pistons are still on it. It would be easy to use this system to build a tow truck. The rams are very powerfull and would lift just about any vehicle. A wheel lift system would work the best, but you could have a hydraulic boom with sling. I have a picture link with many more pics of this truck I can send. Only 24 fit on here. This truck has a really cool gauge panel, and awesome round am radio. I have experience shipping vehicles and can help with that process and can help load it. Clear title. The truck is located in Eureka Montana. I can email a link with more pics, just ask. Here are all the details. MORE PICS AVAILABLE. Thanks.MECHANICALThis truck has the EAB flathead V8. It runs excellent, and does not smoke. It is surprisingly quiet also, even though it has a straight pipe with no muffler. If you put a muffler on it, you could barely tell it was running. It runs cool and has no ticks or knocks. Good oil pressure. This is a really tight engine. No bad leaks but one water pump did leak a bit so it may need attention. The transmission and clutch work nicely. This has a 4-speed manual with 2-speed rearend. I checked all the gears but did not check the 2-speed rearend. You have to be going at highway speeds to check the rear and I never drove it that far or fast. This has power brakes that work. They may need bled and checked, but they work fine for driving around at slow speeds. The parking brake works. Wipers, heater fan, and headlights work. Radio is very cool, but doesn't appear to work. Fuel gauge and oil pressure gauge work. Temperature gauge is an aftermarket unit, and does work. This truck should have the fluids checked out, brakes bled, etc. but will need very little work to be used daily. It starts right up and the choke functions properly. It has an auxillary tank hooked up but is running on the original tank and the fuel is not dirty or rusty. Tires will probably need replaced. I'm sure they're usable for parades, but they are old and worn. For shipping, I can take the outer duals off and strap them on the back if the width is an issue. It normally won't be though for most trailers. If you have no intention of using the hydraulic deck on the back, I take it off and would like to keep it. I don't care much about it, but if you don't intend on using it, I'll take it off and save weight for shipping and then you don't have to take it off. Headlights work on dim but not on high so it likely needs new bulbs or a dimmer switch. One turn signal works, the other doesn't. Probably needs a flasher or some tinkering. No rear lights, as they were on the grain box they took off. BODYThe body on the truck is exceptional for an old COE truck. This has a one year only grill, with very unique chrome teeth. I polished the teeth and they look nice. It also has a cool V8 emblem. The only rust is minor cab corner rust in the outer skin. The drivers side is really barely there, buy there is pinhole type rust starting. The passenger side has rusted through a little. This truck has nice patina and could be ratted and driven as-is, but the body will be easy to paint if you choose to restore it. This truck was originally white. It was painted turqoise a long time ago, and has faded through in most areas. It only has one small spot of filler on the passenger fender. It's very small, and the fender is nice overall. Floors, steps, frame, hood, fenders, etc. ect. are nice and rust free. No rust in the roof, jams, firewall either. The drivers door has caught at some time and bent the skin on the bottom and cracked it. You can see it in the pics. A fairly easy fix for a body guy. You have to be careful opening both doors so they don't catch. Both hinges must need a little adjustment. Passenger door does latch, but the latch needs tightened. Drivers latch is broke and it does not latch. Doors will be secured shut for transport. Hood opens/closes and latches fine. Battery cover is on it which is nice. Sometimes they get lost. Drivers window is not cracked, and rolls up. Passenger window is broke out. Windshield is cracked but completely usable. Roof top is nice. Overall, a really straight and dry body. INTERIORThe interior in this is dryer and cleaner than most of these old trucks I've seen. Many times, it looks like a variety of animals have habitated these rigs. This truck is dry and somewhat clean and doesn't stink. Wiring looks usable, although a painless type kit is pretty cheap. Door panels are original and worn but usable for a rat rod. No headliner. No carpet or floor cover. Seat springs are worn out on the driver side. You could probably use the interior as-is with a seatcover if your going low budget, but would need to repair the springs a little first. Overall a really cool survivor that's 62 years old. Thanks, and happy bidding. Sold as-is .On Mar-04-15 at 18:09:03 PST, seller added the following information:
