Description

Jeep may have invented recreational off-roading but the early Bronco perfected it. With more luxury more performance and well more everything than the venerable Jeep this 1975 Ford Bronco is go-anywhere utility that looks equally at home on the trail and at the country club. While you see a lot of early Broncos with big tires and burly engines restored examples like this are a refreshing change of pace. Wearing a factory color scheme of copper with a white hardtop it has been faithfully preserved in pretty much the same state it must have been in say 1977. There's no evidence that this Bronco was ever left for dead and the paint work is decent achieving a vintage look that seems appropriate not over-restored. You'll note it has the dual tank option which allows it to go just about anywhere any time. Fit and finish are decent and probably on par with what you'd get from the dealer when it was new and we like the contrasting look of the white fender flares which tie it all together quite nicely. Simple bumpers a body-colored grille and good glass all around further reinforce the idea that this truck has always been well-maintained and treated as something special.Handsome tan leather seats may seem inappropriate in a truck designed to play in the dirt but the OEM materials mean that it is easy to clean and holds up well in use. Borrowed from a late-model it works rather well in the boxy Bronco and even the back seat was apparently appropriated from the same vehicle so it looks consistent throughout. New black carpets make it feel luxurious not spartan and the white dash and door panels keep everything nice and bright inside. The C4 3-speed automatic transmission is managed by a column-mounted shifter and the lever in the center is for the 2-speed transfer case and you'll find that everything has a direct mechanical feel that's part of the Bronco's appeal. Basic factory gauges keep an eye on the engine while an upgraded AM/FM radio provides better entertainment than the original AM unit might have. And of course you can always pull the hardtop and enjoy open-air off-roading the way it all started. The top engine in the Bronco was Ford's venerable 302 cubic inch V8 topped by a 2-barrel carburetor. Built for torque not all-out performance it moves the lightweight little truck with ease and makes great V8 sounds while doing it. The engine bay is largely original although the engine itself is fresh with bright Ford Blue paint a rebuilt Autolite carburetor and a correct air cleaner designed for the rigors of off-roading. The undercarriage is original too but there's no evidence of previous repairs or issues and the stock axles and transfer case suggest that this truck has never been abused or assembled from parts. The exhaust system is new and with power steering it's easy to handle even in the rough stuff. Factory steel wheels from a later F-series truck look right on the Bronco and are wrapped in oversized off-road radials that give it a great stance. If you like them mostly stock this one sticks to the factory recipe and looks great. With V8 power and an unusual color combination this Bronco will win fans wherever it goes. Call today!
