I have been ask if the engine and trans are original so I removed the starter and here are the numbers C5AE-6015E date code is 6C8 which is March 8th 1966. Keep in mind thatdate code is the date the block was cast not the build date of the engine. So the engine was cast 3 months before the car was built on June 16th 1966. So I believe this is the original engine but do your own home work. The trans had a C6AP# which is 1966 as well so I think the drive train is original. Also I was asked about the body parts and I checked the front fenders and hood theyhave the Ford date code on them. The rear 1/4 panels have the factory under coat on them so I think it has all the original body panels. Also has CarLite glass even the windshield. Please ask any more questions you may have and I will post them here. Thanks

Description
1966 Ford Mustang Convertible 289 V8 Auto trans Factory AC Power steering power top. This car has been setting for 5 years and a friend ask me to sell it for him because I am a Mustang guy and do Ebay. I drained the old gas and put in new. I changed the engine oil and filter. I did a compression check to make sure the engine was ok and the low was 130psi and the high was 140psi so that is good. I installed new spark plugs and rebuilt the carburetor and replaced the fuel filter. The car started right up on high idle and runs very nice. The car is very dry under it no leaks that I see. That red brown paint you see under the car is the factory primer you just don't see the factory primer very often. I have only driven it around my yard no insurance or current plates but I am sure it will be fine. There was a lot work done before it was parked. Here is a list of some that I see. New Brakes front suspension springs front and back. New sway bars front and back. New gas tank. New radiator and hose. NO RUST ARIZONA CAR FROM NEW. The top goes up and down nice lights work radio works horn works still has stock exhaust that is good. This is a very nice car that needs a little work to be show or drive it like it is. Please come and see the car or have some look at it for you if you like. Look at my feed back I tell it like it is. Look at the pictures and if you need more please let me know.
