Description

There are traditional rods there are rods that dare to be different and then there are the rods that combine familiar things in brand new ways to create something truly unique like this 1932 Ford roadster. Did I mention six-deuce Hemi power? If I showed you this color on a paint chart and told you that was the color I'd chosen for my roadster you'd tell me that I'm crazy. But look at how awesome this car looks now that it's done. Brilliant right? It almost seemed like a law that '32 Fords had to be black or red but if you show up in this one you will be The Man from the moment you arrive. Yes it's fiberglass but it has been expertly prepped and finished with shaved door handles and hinges and a grille shell painted to match. You can forget about a hood but with that outrageous sextuplet of carbs why would you ever want to hide it? Out back the traditional looks continue with '39 Ford teardrop taillights and an exposed gas tank while up front a V'd spreader bar takes on a very trick look by adopting an airfoil profile. Obviously someone was sweating the details when this one went together. The completely custom interior uses a fabricated bench seat to maximize legroom in the compact roadster body. Wrapped in blue leather the pleated seats have a traditional look that dates back to the days when this car was new but the beautifully stitched door panels are quite modern. Dark blue carpets give the open car a finished luxurious feel and help control heat too. The dash is a gorgeous engine-turned panel filled with Stewart Warner instruments and they didn't waste time with frivolous stuff like a radio or heater. More leather has been wrapped around the banjo-style wheel which lives atop a polished billet tilt column so it's easy to get comfortable behind the wheel. The trunk is upholstered to match and part of this car's modern twist is the custom lift-off top which is pure roadster but looks ever so slightly different in profile thanks to the rounded side frame.Aside from a flathead there's nothing more traditional in your hi-boy than a Chrysler 331 cubic inch Hemi. Topped by an outrageous induction system that incorporates SIX carburetors on a Weiand intake it was the hottest engine on the street then and makes a big statement today. Everything was sanded smoothed and finished to accept a matching coat of light blue paint and anything that wasn't painted was polished or chromed. Think of how long it took to disassemble and paint all those carburetor bodies and note how glossy and smooth the engine castings are; there is A TON of work in this car. It also runs beautifully despite the exotic induction and has a wonderful Hemi soundtrack thanks to the ceramic-coated exhaust system. The frame is boxed for strength the front suspension consists of a traditional I-beam axle and out back there's a Ford 9-inch hanging on ladder bars and coil-overs. Staggered Torque Thrusts achieve the traditional look using 195/60/15 front and 275/60/17 rear BFG radials.Gorgeous fast and unique THIS is what hot-rodding is all about. Next time you see a generic 350 Chevy with a 4-barrel you'll remember this car and if it isn't yours by then you'll probably regret it. Call today!
