Mad Max Interceptor Replica Project car.Dream of building an Interceptor as seen in "The Road Warrior" "Mad Max" or the recently released "Fury Road" then this is your ticket.This is a genuine Australian 1974 XB Falcon Hardtop just like the one used in those movies.This particular car is an XB Fairmont GS which is the closest thing to a XB GT (The original MM1/2 car was a GT the Fury Road cars were in fact the same as this car Fairmont GS).Reason for sale: I was actually going to build this car ready for the premier of Mad Max: Fury Road at the cinema (as I was lucky enough to have built the actual movie Interceptor and Razor Cola "bare metal" Interceptor) however I ran out of time and now have other commitments so I need the space in my workshop back hence the car is going at a good price.Car is located in AUSTRALIA currently. (Note this car is also for sale locally in Australia I just thought I would put it on ebay USA in case someone was dreaming of owning an Interceptor but didn't know where to find one).PLEASE NOTE: BUY IT NOW does NOT include shipping and customs. I recommend paying the shipping direct to the freight broker as this will also put your name on all shipping docs.The Car:This coupe is a factory V8 (302 Cleveland yes in Australia we had 302 and 351 Cleveland engines) it currently has a 302C from a slightly later model identical engines other than numbers.It comes with an auto box but you can easily convert it to 4 speed manual I'm happy to include some of the required parts to help with the conversion (I can source a full conversion at additional cost but any US top loader will fit fine).The body of he car needs restoration as it does suffer from the typical rust issues found in these 1970s Fords. I won't sugar coat it the car is going for a great price but it does need some love. I've included almost all the rust repair sections you'll need you just need to do the work fitting them. Some repairs have been started but it's the kind of build were I expect someone will strip it down and do a nice job to build themselves a very cool Mad Max Interceptor.It has rust in the following areas:- Sill (rocker) panels - (2 new panels included)- LH lower front guard (fender) - (new repair section included)- Front RH area of engine bay (appears to have had a battery acid leak in the past)- RH/LH lower door skins (new repair sections included for both doors)- RH/LH wheel arch (This is removed completely when fitting the Mad Max flares)- RH rear 1/4 panel / boot floor area repairs have been started but requires finishing (new corner section included along with a new lower inner panel and also a section cut from another car so everything needed is included).- RH side of tail light panel has some rust (replacement tail light panel cut from another hardtop included)- RH roof gutter channel has some rust- RH/LH front floor pans have some minor holes (do not require replacement sections holes are only small like a couple of quarters side by side).- RH/LH door jams have some minor rust- RH C-pillar inner bracing has some minor rust- Rear parcel shelf has been cut away in sections to repair some rust spots but at present not been replaced. (I was going to remove this whole area as per the Mad Max 2 and Fury Road versions of the Interceptor but left it as is in case the buyer prefers to go with the more popular Mad Max 1 style car.That's all the rust I can think of however please check my photos and if your unsure about anything just ask and I will give you an honest answer.The hardtop is virtually complete with only a few minor items missing:- No carpet I suspect any buyer would fit new carpet anyway I can arrange this for around US$250 extra.- No rear window stainless (cosmetic only and it's painted black on the Interceptor so you never see it).- No stainless divider for the side windows (not a big issue but they can cost from US$150+).- Rear seat is from a Falcon sedan very similar just a slightly different base so it sits a bit higher. Can be modified to suit (happy to provide pics if needed).- Front seat belts (can be bought new).That's all that comes to mind for things missing. Of course some parts included with the car will require restoration work before use.Other things included with the car that are worth mentioning:Has all glass inc winder mechs.Has all door trims inc window window handles and arm rests.Complete XB GT Dash with correct Interceptor style speedo with dual KPH/MPH speedo (comes with spare dash frame as the one in the car has a couple of extra holes cut into it).All brakes and suspension (I suggest testing and rebuilding anything that is worn prior to completing the car)Brake booster master cyl brake lines heater hoses.302C engine inc GT intake manifold.Pair of front seat bases retrimmed in black vinyl/velourVarious other parts needed for the car and a couple of spares as well.Mad Max Replica parts included:- Full body kit inc nose cone front flares rear flares roof wing and boot wing. All new only test fitted. (Bonnet scoop shown in a couple of pics is not included I just sat it on for a look can include it for an additional US$100)- Full set of Mad Max style wheels/tires. Stain black powder coated 15x8" and 15x10" with brand new tires (235/60 & 295/50).- Full functional zoomie exhaust with mufflers. (engine also has headers so there is only approx a 6" gap in the pipe to complete the exhaust system).- New Perspex head light covers and new front indicator lenses (correct to Mad Max 1).- New extended spring hangersI think that's probably covered most things but by all means ask me any questions you like and your welcome to request more photos.This thing will pull more attention at shows than virtually any Mustang Camaro Corvette Chevelle Monti Carlo Firebird Cuda Mopar or Chevy.
