Description

The snarling vicious pony cars of the Trans-Am series are finally getting their due. Cars like this 1970 Boss 302 are red-hot with collectors because everyone has discovered what Mustang fans have known for forty years: these cars are a blast to drive. If you haven't heard one of these deep-breathing small blocks ripping to 6000 RPM you're missing out on one of the automotive kingdom's greatest treats. Here's your chance to join the party. This Boss 302 is a stunning example of arguably the most perfectly balanced first-generation Mustang of them all. With styling details by the legendary Larry Shinoda it was also one of the best-looking with an aggressive racetrack look that translated extremely well to the street. And dressed in handsome Yellow paint it's a high-profile real-deal 302 that will draw crowds at shows. This particular Boss is a mostly all original survivor car with it's original interior. The Boss included the blacked-out hood and side stripes and it carries goodies like the chin spoiler deck lid wing and rear window slats not to mention the Shaker hood which completes the look. All of those goodies like the shaker factory tach and others are all original to this Boss Marti report included to verify the options. The all-black interior is ideal for the potent Boss 302 an all-business driver's environment that is both comfortable and functional. This car carries what appears to be an all-original interior (except for the dash pad) with seats that seem to defy the past four-and-a-half decades. The door panels and center console show a small amount of wear but it's easy to see that this car has led an easy life. All the original gauges show nice clear faces and bright fluorescent orange pointers and the Hurst T-handle shifter atop the close-ratio 4-speed Toploader is perfect for grabbing gears quickly. A Marti Report accompanies the car and lists a lot of options including an AM/8-track radio but it's been replaced by a more functional AM/FM/cassette setup but otherwise it's quite authentic inside. The back seat is a fold-down unit that greatly expands trunk space perfect for weekend warriors who use their Boss 302s as intended. Lift that awesome Shaker hood and under the air-cleaner-mounted scoop you'll find a correct 4-bolt Boss 302 block. It is a correct 1D replacement block and it's not perfect but many of the details are quite good and there's nothing here that will raise the eyebrows of Boss experts at a show. It benefits from a recently rebuilt 4-barrel carburetor under that big scoop as well as a fresh tune up so it has a great idle and just rips through the gears. Underneath you'll note that the original close-ratio 4-speed remains in place the brakes are assisted by a new master cylinder and the 9-inch rear carries 3.50 gears inside. The exhaust system is new from manifolds to exhaust tips and it rides on gorgeous Magnum 500 wheels wearing brand new 235/60/15 Firestone Firehawk tires. Documentation includes a Marti Report proving this is a real-deal Boss 302 in as-delivered spec. Unquestionably one of the great Mustangs of all time with so many being dressed up for show it's really exciting to see one that's ready to prowl the streets once again. Call today!
