Hi folks, our bidding on a 1967 mustang. She was built in the San Jose plant in CA. "c" model 289 2 bbl c4 automatic. lets start with what I know it needs so you can get an accurate picture of the restoral needed. first off a lot of body work. I had it inspected by a body shop ( yes they actually drove out to look at it ) the car sometime in its past was involved in some sort of a side swipe left side. The repairs were piss poor. left fender looks to be salvageable, eft door very iffy, eft rearquarter panel requires a complete replacement. 4 years back it hit a post needs right fender repair/replacement, ower balance pan isdamaged as well as front bumper and end of hood. it was a light hit no structural damage to core support/ unibody mechanicals. The body shop gave me a " no Bullshit " estimate of 6,000.00 to get body ready for paint.
mechanicals. the vehicle has been sitting for 4 years, tires are junk, issing the caps on the front rims,it was parked because the tranny quit, otor ran very strong. Now here is where the WOW comes in look at the pics of the motor! the reservoir bag is like brand new, he 1967 emission / timing stickers are pristine. there is no way anyone has ever done a paint over on this motor. the factory blue paint on the motor is excellent. odometer reads 39,000. normally I would say it has rolled over. but when I look at the motor and compartment it makes me scratch my head.
Interior surprisingly enough its not to bad, eadliner is perfect it did come untucked at back window but is not torn or deteriorated, eats seem good, oes need upper dash pad. factory radio with bezel is on floor board. unbolted not broken. carpet is so so. The rest seems like normal wear . This old girl is an excellent candidate for a full or partial restoral.now Ithink I have accuratelydescribed what is needed .
Keep in mind if you chose to you could fix the transmission, 600 dollars was the quote I got ( I would be willing to get the tranny done for you before pick up for the 600 dollars), lean the gas tank(not included see ps below), nd drive this car, he panel in question is patched and painted but would never be acceptable froma full blown restoration point of view. its not all caved in and ugly just a bit wavy behind the scoop.
ps I could pull the tank and clean up the carb and make her run as well. figure 500dollars. for my tim, uel, ew batter, nd clean the carburetor. so if you chose you could drive it onto the trailer when you arrive. it has been "non oped" as well no back reg fees
I priced this car low to make it an affordable resto projec, ot because its jun, believe there is a real possibility this car only has 39,000 miles if I could prove it I would triple the price. undercarriage, heel wells motor compartment factory stickers really have me guessing, ut unfortunately I have no proof, nd the tranny went out.but wow if you saw it underneath you would understand .and like I said get it running and just drive it if you choose. I think it would be cool either way.
there is no reserve, o what you bid is what it will sell for, nd figure an extra1100 dollars more if you want me to have tranny done and make it run. I will deliver up to a 300 mile radiusfrom apple valley ca.for you for an additional 300 dollars. ( maybe further but it will cost you) southern California delivery figure only 200 dollars) or you can just come get it for what you bid.
If you have any questions, r want extra picsI will be glad tohelp you. or shoot me pm with your number and ill call you to answer questions.
Pretty sweet deal huh.
Happy bidding
