OVERVIEW
I am picky. Because of it, don’t have a building full of employee’s, 9,000 square foot showroom, nd 125 cars I can’t remember anything about.
Being a smaller scale operation allows me the opportunity to not only personally buy all the cars I offer, ut a chance to drive, njoy, est, une, nd make sure they are ready for sale before I list them. It pays off, ith a roster of happy clients worldwide over the past 9 years.
Being picky allowed me to meet the gentleman I purchased this amazing Mustang from, s he wanted it to go to someone that appreciated its uniqueness, ondition, nd history. He had owned the car for so long it lived in two States with him, nd essentially “retired” to Florida when he did!
The car is absolutely stunning, nd presents well enough you could enter it into a MCA show RIGHT NOW.
Please review the DETAILED DESCRIPTION and information provided below, nd look through the 100 LARGE PHOTOS I have provided. If you have questions, r would like to arrange a private showing, lease call me at 941-286-0889.
THIS IS NOT A CONSIGNMENT CAR! I have the clean and clear title in hand, nd the car is ready for immediate sale, elivery, nd ownership.

CONDITION REPORT
To start with, am providing as much information to you about this car as I possibly can. I am NOT a Mustang expert, ut have consulted with two peers that are, s well as with Gary Hanson of the FORD T5 REGISTRY, ho have all been helpful with my quest to present the car with as much information as possible.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COME AND SEE THE CAR IN PERSON, R HIRE AN INSPECTOR TO DO SO ON YOUR BEHALF PRIOR TO BIDDING.
This Mustang is absolutely beautiful, nd in the opinion of myself and the aforementioned peers, t presents in the upper echelon of Mustang Convertibles available in the marketplace today.
I purchased the car directly from the prior owner, ho had it for many years in upstate NY before bringing it down to Florida when he retired.
The car has been exceptionally well-cared for its entire life, nd appears to be incredibly correct and unmolested save for an exterior refinish in the correct VINTAGE BURGUNDY done sometime in the late 90’s, correct new top around the same time, nd the replacement of some trim and other odd bits as needed over the life of the car.
I have taken 100 DETAILED PHOTOS of the car, nd urge you to review them to see essentially every part of the car that I can photograph.
I have decoded the data plate, nd it breaks down as follows:
A CODE- 289cid 4v 225hp V8
95- EXPORT D.S.0.
76A- CONVERTIBLE BODY
X- VINTAGE BURGUNDY EXTERIOR
D3- PARCHMENT WITH BURGUNDY TRIM

TRANS 6- DUAL RANGE AUTOMATIC C4
There is a close up photo of it in the photo series below.
The car also retains the body buck tag and fender stamping which I have shown in the photos below.
There is a strong possibility that this car WAS a T5, s the prior owner stated he was told the vehicle belonged to an Army Officer who brought the car back from overseas. Who knows if that’s true, ut the fact that it is an EXPORT D.S.O. with a 95 sales office and the VIN series falls in line with some of the others on the T5 Registry supports it. Plus, t was METUCHEN built car, ith the body buck tag located on the driver side inner fender with correct “X” for export designation.
I have read online that some vehicles sold to members of the military did NOT get rebadged as they were intended to come back to U.S. soil. It also has the correct, RIGINAL export brace, ith the even spacing not found on reproductions.
That, long with other, ore in-depth items I detail below, akes it possible this was a T5, nd was either not badged, r rebadged at some point when it returned stateside, ence the regular horn button, as cap, nd emblems.
While in 1964.5 the T5 conversion items (later called a T 5 package) were packed into the trunk to be installed by the dealer, rom 1965 on this procedure was no longer accepted by the German authorities and conversions had to be done on the assembly line. That explains why most T-5s were produced in a batch of VIN’s, lthough there can be exceptions in the case of special or urgent orders.
Again, am sharing information you can use at your own discretion, ut since FORD destroyed the records on Mustangs prior to 1967, t is all unprovable. Either way, e know for a fact that it was an export car based on the D.S.O. it has, nd we know for a fact the equipment that is physically on the car.
Another rare thing about the car is the fact that is has the Challenger 289cid-4V 225hp V8 motor, nd is NOT a GT package car. Based on some online research, t seems like that alone puts the car in a class of only a few hundred or so cars of the model year.
The car was refinished on the exterior sometime in the late 90’s, nd thanks to careful indoor storage and limited use, ooks like it was done last month.
The body is incredibly straight and issue free, ith clean and even door, runk, nd hood gaps.
You can run a 4” square felt covered magnet over the entire exterior and it sticks like glue.
The finish is glossy, lick, nd bright, nd has probably spent more time being waxed and polished than seeing the light of day.
It is believed to be just 27,940 original miles, s is reflected on the functional odometer/speedometer, ut when the car was transferred to Florida, he prior owner did not tell the DMV office, nd Florida automatically put EXEMPT on the current title. Unfortunately, ithout a copy of the prior NY title, cannot change attempt to rectify it, o it is being sold as EXEMPT for miles.
I tend to believe the mileage is accurate, s there are too many original parts and components on the car that show little, f any, ear for it to be over 100,000. Again, ou are welcome to hire an inspector, ppraiser, r come down yourself to view the car if the photos and information I have provided are not enough for you to make an informed decision. Frankly, hope you do, ecause the first person who views the car in person will most certainly buy it.
There are only a handful or so truly minor imperfections to be found on the exterior of the car, ike small (few millimeter) stone chips, ight marks, nd other minor blemishes.
Make no mistake, his is a full-on show car, ith very few apologies. This is NOT a driver quality vehicle, his is NOT some backyard restoration done by someone with a penchant for reality TV shows, nd this is NOT some “fluff and buff” car that has been inside more auctions and Classic Car lots than a Mecum family member! THIS IS A VERY RARE, TUNNINGLY NICE MUSTANG THAT IS SEEING THE FREE MARKET FOR THE FIRST TIME RIGHT NOW.
When the car was refinished on the exterior, new top was installed that is correct, nd fully functional with its convenient dash-mounted power switch. I have removed the back seat and supplied photos of the pump and lines to show that they have full fluid pressure, nd there is no sign of leaking in the pump, nd no sign of leaking or weeping around arms themselves, hich you can view from peering down the crevice of the vent windows with a shop light.
No pooling of fluids, r signs of prior pooling are evident, nd I have personally raised and lowered the top 50 times without incident. It opens and closes quickly, nd exhibits no issues or odd tendencies.
The convertible top boot is a new reproduction unit in correct color, nd is in exceptional condition.
The top itself is in exceptional condition, nd shows no tears, ips, eam pulls, r damage. Seam around the rear window is perfect, nd the glass itself is flaw free. It does have some wrinkles from not being used that much and being stored in the closed position.
The rest of the glass on the car is in exceptional condition, nd shows no fogging, racks, hips, r damage.
Window fuzzies, eals, nd weather stripping are in excellent condition, nd show no issues.
Windows roll up and down as easily as new units, ith no binding or snags.
The doors open and close exactly as they should, nd are aligned exceptionally. They have no sag or up/down movement, nd from the striker plate to the hinges are in excellent working and appearing condition.
The chrome and bright work on the car is in exceptional condition, nd I have taken close up photos of every piece of it in the series of 100 pictures below.
Emblems and lower rocker trim are in fantastic condition as well.
The car has the correct blue emblem knock-off wire wheel covers found on most T5’s and export cars, nd they are in exceptional condition save for needing a little elbow grease and polish.
On July 8, 013, he prior owner installed a set of new COKER American Classic WWW Radials, ized P205/75R14 on the car. While obviously not era correct, hey do make it ride and handle wonderfully! They were installed at 27,251 miles, o they only have about 688 miles on them and appear to be as-new in every way.
The interior is gorgeous in its correct Parchment with Burgundy trim, nd is about as nice as you can find on any
Mustang, ith only the lightest signs of use and patina.
I believe the interior to be either completely original, ith any components that MIGHT have been replaced believed to be NOS parts rather than reproductions.
The dash pad is in exceptional condition, ith no cracks, plits, r brittleness.
The dash itself is in exceptional condition with no holes, ents, r damage evident.
All of the switchgear for the lights and wipers is in well above average condition and functions as it should.
Glove box is in great condition and working order, nd has a working light inside along with the functional emergency flasher switch.
Footwell lights up front work like they should, s does the rear footwell light located at the back of the full length center console.
Console itself is in fantastic condition, ith no damage.
Shifter actuates perfectly, nd shows wonderfully as well.
Gauge pod houses the fully function 140MPH speedo and working odometer, nd is bordered by working gauges for FUEL, IL, MP, nd TEMP, nd they all look fantastic too!
Red high beam light and green indicators on the turn
signals work as they should.
The AM radio works as it should, nd actually doesn’t sound half bad either!
The AIR CONDITIONING system works as it should, s do the levers for the MAGICAIRE heat.
Kick panels and rear trim panels are in exceptional condition.
Door panels look magnificent, ith the only issue being some chipped sections on the chrome trim band on the driver side door, hich I have highlighted in the 100 photos below.
The interior door pulls and window rollers throughout the car are in exceptional condition and function as they should.
The car is equipped with a beautiful day/night rear view mirror as well.
The door sill plates on each side of the car are in great condition, ut would need some polish and elbow grease to make them stand up to the rest of the car.
It has the inside mirror control for the driver side which looks fantastic and functions as it should.
Carpet is absolutely beautiful throughout the car, ith no damage or disrepair evident.
Thick, ed, ubber floor mats protect the carpet, nd look great too.
Overall, he interior is just gorgeous, nd shows like it was 1967 and you were shopping for a used car.
The engine bay is in exceptional appearing condition, nd does have a few upgraded items that are not original components, ut are still suitable for the car.
Having not been removed from the vehicle at any point, t does have some signs of dirt and dust on it, ut I am sure once you get it home and spend time detailing it in your garage, ou can make it look even nicer than it does today.
It is an “A” code 289cid 4V Challenger V8 with 225hp, nd is quite rare in a non-GT convertible according to the internet research I have done and the Mustang Experts I reached out to when researching this vehicle.
I have NOT removed the starter, o I do not have the stamping numbers to provide, ut if you are seriously interested in the car and that is the last hurdle after we agree on price and terms, will gladly remove it and provide photos of it.
The carburetor tag decodes as follows:
C6ZF B 1966 289 4v MUSTANG/FAIRLANE 480cfm
A 5HB
I have taken about 30 photos of the engine bay and undercarriage to show you below, nd will gladly provide more for serious and capable parties.
The motor starts, dles, nd runs wonderfully, ith no known issues at this time.
On 10/23/2013, he prior owner had both outer tie rod ends replaced, he transmission fluid changed and a new gasket installed, new fuel pump gasket, nd the rear differential fully serviced, ncluding axle removal and cleaning and fresh fluid.
On 9/12/13, he prior owner had new power steering hose clamps, ew power steering pump seals, nd new power steering system hoses installed, hich were purchased from Missouri Mustang.
On 7/2/14, he prior owner had both rear wheel cylinders replaced along with a new V8 Single exhaust muffler, ith parts purchased from Mustang Depot.
Finally, n October of 2014, he car had a NEW YORK STATE SAFETY INSPECTION performed on it.
He retired to Florida and brought the car down with him in
February of 2015, nd just did not have the room for it in the downsized home they came to, o I purchased the car.
The undercarriage of the car is in exceptional condition, nd shows wonderfully, lthough it, ike the rest of the car, ould appear even nicer with a solid detail and good cleaning. I do NOT like to detail the cars and pressure wash, aint, nd otherwise disguise things on vehicles, ecause I want the new owners to see just how incredibly well-cared for the car was before they begin there stewardship of it.
The chassis is solid, ith no soft spots, rior panel replacement or patches evident, nd just a light coating of rust protectant on it so you can still that it is solid.
You can also see the newer exhaust system, uel tank, uspension components, nd other assorted chassis items that appear to be in very good condition as well.
The trunk is in excellent condition, s is the mat, cott
Drake tool bag, pare wheel with tire, nd jack.
We can arrange for the car to be detailed to whatever degree you would like prior shipping it, nd will gladly provide estimates if you want it to arrive in fully detailed condition. As it is, he car is in stunning condition, nd presents better than most “show cars” you see with the owners attached to them via polishing cloth at most events.
I simply want you to know that if you have the car fully cleaned and hit all the little nooks and crannies, t will be about as nice as any you have ever seen.
I will gladly supply any additional photos or information to serious parties, nd HIGHLY RECOMMEND a personal showing of the car, r a professional inspection or appraisal as this is truly a remarkable, nvestment grade collectible car that deserves to be purchased with all consideration of its condition and value. I will gladly work with any licensed inspector/appraiser to facilitate a full showing, nd have access to a lift as well. Please call me to arrange PRIOR TO BIDDING ON THE CAR.
