1952 Ford Customline 2 door
FLATHEAD V-8 and AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION I bought this car from a friend of mine who owned it over 25 years. He had bought it from a friend of his who had owned for over 20 years. When I bought it, he car had been sitting in a warehouse for 5 years without being started. Below is what I did to get it drivable again:· New Battery
· New gas tank
· New fuel sending unit
· One new water pump (the other had already been rebuilt)
· Rebuilt carburetor
· Blew out fuel lines and changed filters, luids etc
· All new brakes – hardware, heel cylinders, rake hoses, rake shoes, ome brake lines
· And the biggie……rebuilt the transmission
The car now starts right up and drives down the road nicely. There is lifter tick that may or may not go away as it is driven more . I have only driven it a few miles since getting it running again. It is considered a high option car:· Original Flat Head V-8
· Very rare Fordomatic automatic transmission!
· Heater
· Radio
· Two back up lights
The interior is very nice. The seats were redone at some point and have some very small tears, ut still look very good (see pics). Headliner is very nice; dash is great, oor panels very nice. Comes with original owner’s manual. You do not have to do anything to the interior for this car to be a local cruise night driver. The car looks nice from 20 ft away, owever it does have rust and the paint job is over 30 years old. There is a patch in both quarters that has new rust bubbling through. There are some small bubbles in various areas. There is a dent in the left rear quarter. The worst rust is in the inner rockers and body mounts (both can only been seen from under the car). Replacements are available fairly cheap, ut they do require someone to weld them on. If you are just using it for a driver, t can be left as is (it has been that way since the 70’s) but if you are restoring they will need repair. There is a small amount of rust on the driver’s front floor board that was patched years ago. The trunk pan is solid. The driver’s door glass is cracked and the passenger vent window does not close. Original jack and a very old bias ply spare are still mounted in the trunk. I am probably making the car sound worse than it is – it is 63 years old – but I want the buyer to be happy with it. Extra parts that go with the car – 2 carbs that need rebuilding, enerator, ots of little engine stuff, nice Customline emblems, -8 emblem, ots of taillights, rand new windshield gasket, et of dog dish hubcaps, nd more….. Please only bid if you really want to buy the car. I would recommend trailoring it if going a long distance since it has not been driven very much. Thanks for looking
