Description
I have a 1949 Ford F-1 Truck. Flathead V8. Original Flatty V8 engine and Four Speed Manual Transmission which were both rebuilt and currently have approximately 3500 miles on rebuild. I have had the truck about four years. I bought from older man in Southern Missouri. He said truck originally was from Arizona which he purchased when living out there. Engine fires up instantly with a push of the button.I brought the truck home with bed and fenders off truck. They were painted but not on truck. I put together and put a Nostalgia Sids four inch drop axle and New Two inch drop springs from St. Louis Spring Company. New Kingpins and bushings in front. Original Rear Springs were replaced with Two Inch drop springs from St.Louis Springs also. Raised front Shackles and flipped rear Shackles. All new bushings in Shackles. Most of frame except directly under cab was sanded and painted with Eastwood Chassis Enamel. New Shocks front and rear. New 235-70-15 Goodyears on back and has 205-60-15 on front. The truck appears to be a pretty solid truck. All steel cab, enders, nd running boards. I would say that the running boards are probably aftermarked steel repops but they are in great shape. I say they are probably repops because they dont have any dings or dents at all. He said the paint was Vintage Flat Black. Interior is Black and in good shape. Heater, unvisors, linker, owl vent, indshield wiper all work. Original gauges in place. Everything works but the Speedometer. The arrow started jumping one day and fell off. Temp gauges under dash on aftermarket gauges. One for each side.Original Horn is still in front of truck which like it wants to work but dont. Makes a small little noise and nothing else?? Inside the roof and upper rear of inside cab is painted black and from window down it has soundproof material in place. Gas Tank is still in original position. Brakes work, ooks like cylinders have been changed out. Drums on all four corners. Since replacing the front axle, he front end has not been aligned. It seems to be real close but probably needs an alignment before driving far. Would be a nice truck for someone to put their own touches on.Truck is in nice shape. This is not a show truck but a truck that shows well and can be a lot of fun. Rear bed has a steel diamond plate welded in place. Bed sides are pretty nice but if you look hard you can see one or two small dings in bed sides but nothing you don't have to look for. The rear lights have been moved to fenders. Chains for tailgate smoothed out. I still have the original straight axle which will come with the truck if you want it. Feel free to E-Mail with any questions.
