Every baby boomer has had those muscle cars...Chevelle, ustang, amaro, harger, orvette, ou knowthe names. When was the last time you went to aclassic car show and something awed you? Something you haven't seen before, omething that is American that was built only one year...1970 Ford XL Convertible. Built as a transition between the Galaxy and the LTD this car has the classic Muscle Car pedigree of the Galaxy but the ride and refinement of the LTD. This car came to us as a stock very original car but we saw the potential and got to work. Born at the factory with a 390 2V single exhaust we decided it needed to breathe a little more. We installed a4V intake and a 650 Holley4V to get more juice to that torque crazy 390 then to let the true muscle soundout we ran new exhaust that finishes with dual exhaust that sound amazing. The #'s matching 390runs awesome and starts without fail each time. The tranny propels this beautynicely down the road without an hesitation. The next aim was to give it a little more stylish look. This was accomplished by dropping the car 2 inches all the way around using new 2 inch drop springs.Next wedid away with the factory steel wheels and opted for new Rocket Racing Wheels with raised white letter BF Goodrich tires. The XL then needed new paint. We went back with the factory white and removed all the external molding and re chromedeverything. Finallywe did away with the boring black top and replaced it with a new Burgundy top to match the interior. The interior is in very nice condition and mostly stock and original. Did I mention it has COLD FACTORY AC? Unlikemanyof the cars of this era this car came to us rust free and remains that way. The odometer shows just over 4k miles this we assume is 104k miles but the car will be sold as it came to us as miles exempt. I think you would be hard pressed to find another muscle car that rides as good as this XL. The power is great and the look is one of a kind. No doubt everycruise in and car show you attend you will be the talk of the show. Give us a call todayand come seefor yourself.
