Wow here's the car many of you have been waiting for. A highly optioned torino gt with 99.9% rust free undercarriage. This car is a diamond in the rough, t's been in storage many many years as it still wears nicely treaded but some dry rotted polyglas 78-15 tires and keystone classic rims when we're polyglas tires last made? A very long time ago.
First the goo, ell in my opinion everything about this car is good! Rust and yes while not much of a mechanic I do know how to properly describe rust. The quarters are the main issue on this car. The drivers just needs a patch but the passenger will need a full quarter repair unless you are really good at metal work(please note the quarters do have a little mud from the past but there is no evidence of it ANYWHERE else on the car)!!!! Front lip of hood has some light rust and can be easily fixed(hood not bent huge plus). Only other rust on the car is a small amount on the drop offs and one very 1x2 inch area under drivers bucket. You must be thinking that's it? Yes that's it doors rust fre, eck lid rust free, OWL is mint can pour buckets of water and interior is completely dry. One fender has a dent but I have a perfect replacement! Torque boxes, rame rails, oor jams, ockers, runk and even the battery tray is completely rust free!!!! This is one clean car!!!!
Just one look at the Marti report will have you drooling. M code(351) Cleveland but now has a 73 429 from what I can tell! Medium metallic blue with a factory laser stripe make this car striking! Factory shaker, ideaway grille, ir conditioning and a white comfort weave bucket console are just the start of the option list on this car.
Interior is in amazing shape for its age. While there are some tears in the seats and such it's still very presentable and with a little work could be very nice. Door panels are nice and straight and not wavy. Dash pad is gorgeous with only a couple very small blemishes(no cracks)! Console is very very nice with only the hinge lid busted but all plastic pieces there to repair it!
The tach dash must of been added at some point as it's not on the Marti but very nice and clear(plus it works perfect)!
This car does I repeat does run and drive!!!! I would recommend some brake work(believe booster is bad) and a new carburetor but it does start and drive and with a small amount of work would be roadworthy so you could drive and restore at the same time.
Now things I am missing. Shaker trim ring, orrect midplate(has a cyclone one I believe) as its round. The spacer between the scoop and midplate is there but is damaged. Hideaway grille is missing some stuff I have one nice egg crate and flap but is missing the other. The connecting rods are also missing along with clips. All the hoses are there though along with everything else! Also missing some air parts but I do have the evaporator and condenser! Also missing the driver rocket moulding.
Please keep in mind this is a 45 year old car which will need reconditioning of some parts, echanical and body work!!!! I cannot think of a better restoration candidate out there this is a rare find so don't miss out!
