This is a very presentable car that shows well and gets thumbs up driving down the road. It was restored by the guy I bought it from just prior to my ownership, n 2010. He had owned it, old it, ought it back. I live in MN in the summer, ad the car shipped to Phoenix where I have used it seasonally, ovember to May. It is stored inside and well maintained. I use it for swap meets, ruises, ar meetingand shows, t has won some awards during the time of my ownership.
The car is stock in colors that were used in 1955. I am not sure of the paint used or exact color, ut I believe they are very authentic for the year, ince I am old enough to remember them. Top is powered and works well, abric and rear window are in good condition. The car starts and drives well. I have rebuilt the front end during ownership and added radial tires to improve the ride and handling. I also have fixed gauges and added seat belts in the front. Chrome and stainless are very nice and all lights and signals work.
It has the small, 72 cubic inch Y block V8 engine with two barrel carburetor, anual choke. It runs well, oes not overheat and has very good power to cruise at 65-70 MPH. It does not have power brakes, ut they work well, lso no Power steering or windows. No rust or evidence of shoddy rust repair. Continental Kit adds a touch of class, s do the fender skirts.
I just bought a 50 Ford Convertible, old a 50 Mercury, nd am just looking to change my inventory.
