Description

1931 Ford Model A coupe. This is a steel body, ough but it is all Ford steel. The body has been chopped 4" and crudely put back together. The roof insert is of the original style (reproduction) wood with the vinyl insert. The front window is the only window in the car and it does swing out like original. The interior is a home made bench seat style with the floorboards being cast aluminum from a firetruck. The gauges are Lincoln early gauges, he oil pressure works and there is an aftermarket water temp gauge. The master cylinder is under the dash and all the linkage for brake and clutch are custom. The chassis is a custom rectangular steel chassis with a Speedway 4" drop front axle with hairpins and a cross leaf spring, arly Ford spindles with GM rotors and calipers up front. The steering box is F100. The rear suspension is a Speedway 4 link kit with a panhard bar and a set of QA1 coil over shocks in the rear. The rearend is a 8" Ford with a set of factory 2.75 gears that has been narrowed with drum brakes from a late 60's Mustang. The wheels are American Racing Salt Flat specials both front and rear, ront tires are 165r15 and the rears are reproduction Hurst pie crust style slicks and they do have a DOT number on them. The engine is a 1954 Dodge 241 Hemi with a custom made intake to mate the 4-71 supercharger to. The engine is all original, t has not been rebuilt. The blower case does not have any rotors in it and acts like a tunnel ram, ut the wine of theblower is still there due to the belt. The distributor has been modified to fit a Petronix electronic style ignition. The carbs are Stromberg carbs that are fed by a little electric fuel pump on the frame rail. The headers are custom made lake style headers that do have baffles bolted in them. The Hemi is mated to a late model S10 T5 with a custom driveshaft to the rear. The starter is a 12v PowerMaster and the alternator is a Powermaster generator look-a-like. This is a really cool car to drive and always gets looks where ever it goes. Car needs to go toa new home. Please contact me, ar is available to be viewed in Greenwood, N.
