Description

This very pretty 1965 Mustang is a lot more than just a pretty face. In addition to the wonderfully subtle look, t packs a fresh 302 crate motor, beautifully stitched Pony interior, nd what might be the best-fitting convertible top we've ever seen. This beautiful Mustang has been refinished in correct 1965 Ford code Y Silver Blue Metallic, nd wow, t looks like a million bucks. It's almost like your eyes are thanking you for not forcing them to look at another red Mustang, nd they'll take a few moments to linger over the details. Note how the paint accentuates the laser-straight crease that forms the top edge of the scoop on both sides of the car. Dig the icy metallic that's just right and so smoothly finished that it looks like the surface of a frozen lake. And although this car now packs a little extra heat and 14 more cubic inches, 89 badges have been added to symbolize the V8 under the hood. Fresh chrome bumpers, beautiful grille with GT fog lamps, nd new taillight lenses emphasize the Mustang's classic beauty that has been stopping folks in their tracks for five decades now.The beautiful white Pony interior gives this Mustang a bright disposition that invites you to drop the top and spend an afternoon cruising. Bucket seats were standard in the Mustang, nd these are wrapped in fresh seat covers that duplicate the factory Pony patterns exactly. Matching door panels, light dash pad, nd dark blue carpets all add to the factory-fresh feel inside, oo. An aftermarket center console makes cruising in this car a lot more comfortable (you don't miss that center armrest until it's gone) and adds a pair of practical cup holders as well. It sports a factory GT-style gauge cluster and the modern A/C system has been tucked discreetly under the dash where it works quite well but doesn't draw a lot of attention to itself. The original AM radio lives in the center of the dash, ut there's a new AM/FM/CD stereo head unit hidden in the glove box. And that top is simply beautifully installed; the guy who did that should get some kind of award for getting it so snug, nd it's so fresh that it hasn't even stretched out completely yet. The trunk is neatly finished in dark blue carpets which aren't stock but look so good nobody will complain. So the VIN tag says this car originally used an A-code 289 to get around, ut someone remedied that with the snarling 302 HO crate motor that lives there now. Snugged between the shock towers, he warmed-over small block is the ideal Mustang power plant: torquey, mooth, nd docile when you're just putting around town, ut able to really hustle when you need it. It starts quickly and idles nicely with an Edelbrock intake and carburetor, nd thanks to a custom dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, t sounds amazing. A serpentine belt drive from a late-model Lincoln Continental provides a perfect fit in the vintage Mustang engine bay and the chassis was correctly finished in red oxide primer. A C4 3-speed automatic spins the original 8-inch rear end and an extra leaf was added in each of the rear springs because the restorer liked to used the car in parades. Sporty Torque Thrust wheels weren't a factory option in 1965, ut nobody can argue that they don't look amazing, specially wearing blackwall radials.Sometimes pretty just has to win out over popularity, nd this Silver Blue Mustang ragtop has beauty to spare.
