Description

1969 GMC C910 Custom (LWB): The most popular GM trucks with collectors are those built between 1967 and 1972. Several factors explain the collector popularity of these trucks. First. they're just damn good looking! To many. the lines of GMC pickups in this styling series. particularly the 1969-1972 models. are a "classic" expression of what a pickup truck should look like. Second. with this series GMC offered truly carlike interiors. complete with color-coordinated carpeting on the floor. Third. all power accessories once found only on cars were now available on light trucks. A pickup from this "Integrated Styling" series could be equipped with air conditioning. power steering. power brakes. AM/FM radio - virtually any accessory you could find on a car. Forth. and perhaps best of all. with GMC's all-coil spring suspension. pickups of this series offered a ride as smooth as that of a Bel Air sedan. Fifth. as an added bonus. GMC equipped its light trucks with a range of engines and transmission options that was nearly as wide as could be found in any of the company's car lines. Buyers could fit their truck out for miserly fuel economy with a faithful six and three-speed transmission. or as an interstate cruiser with a high-powered 350 V-8 (new for 1969) and automatic transmission. This beautiful GMC was recently purchased from its previous and 3rd owner here in Texas who had owned the truck since 1999 and restored it in 2008. He purchased the C910 from the 2nd owner who also resided in Houston. This history on this truck is known well enough to verify the current mileage of just under 88k to be original miles. What is truly impressive is that both of these TX owners retained all the original documentation from when the truck was purchased new in late 1968 from a Harry Leachman Motors in Bowling Green. KY. This documentation includes; Original Sales Literature. Owners Manual. Car Credential Pouch. Warranty Plan. GMAC Time Payment Plan. and the Protect-o-plate (P. O. P. ). The second best part about this truck was that much of the truck was kept original as possible. Although not exact duplicates. the GMC still wears the Turquoise & White paint with Turquoise cloth interior it had from the factory. A Sony CDX-CA700X stereo was custom installed to prevent any cutting of the dash. There are also some cosmetic engine upgrades but the original intake. valve covers. and air cleaner are still available and will accompany this sale. This truck checks all the boxes for what you want to find on a '69. As visible on the SPID tag. this is a nicely optioned and Custom Package equipped GMC that is very factory original. This C910 needs nothing and we wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and drive it anywhere. It starts easily. shifts smoothly. stops like it should. and does great at highway speeds. Features and options include; 350 V8. Automatic Transmission. Power Steering. Power Brakes. Upgraded A/C. Factory Delco AM Radio. Chrome Bumpers/Grill/Mirrors. Tinted Glass. Dual Exhaust. Full Spare. 15" Factory Wheels and thick 255/70 R15 Radial Tires!
