Description

Up for auction is a 1975 International Scout II with 345 V8 and 4-spd. manual transmission. Original AZ truck. Engine and mechanical has been completely gone through including new intake manifold gaskets, alve cover gaskets, ater outlet gaskets, reeze plugs, CV valve, pper and lower radiator houses, rake booster/master cylinder, orgenson steering joint, harcoal canister, uel pump, gnition, 9-gallon plastic tank, teel fuel filler neck and all tank hoses and a bunch of other items I am probably forgetting. Carb was re-built by Carburetors Unlimited in Glendale with new gasket, hoke adjustment, tc. Engine/engine bay were completely de-greased and re-painted. Scout runs perfectly and fires up immediately every time.

Body and paint are all original and in very good to excellent condition for the age. Rust has started around the rear wheel wells. Some rust on floors on driver and passenger side fronts but overall, his is a perfect example of a relatively rust-free AZ Scout. There is a minor dent on the bottom of the driver’s side door and front passenger quarter panel near headlight (see pictures). Recently got a quote from local body shop to complete all body work (including rust repair - new metal welded in) and paint inside and out (original green and white top re-done) for $3,000, o give you an idea of what it would cost to make it perfect. That said, ody shop guy said I was crazy for re-doing it as he thought the original patina/body scar-look is way better. Will leave that up to next owner.

All electrical works including blinkers, assenger-side headlight is noticeably dimmer than driver side. 2 ½” inch Rancho lift with Rancho RS 5000 shocks. Original wagon wheels painted black. 31” all-terrain tires which appear older but are still more than fine with plenty of tread left. Windshield is cracked and will need replacing. All original smog equipment is in place and truck easily passes emissions (including visual inspection of smog equipment – a real pain in the neck here in AZ). Original rear step bumper was recently blasted and re-painted silver-grey with clearcoat. Front seats are from a 1971-1973 Scout II and need to be recovered but foam is all perfect. Original rear seat is in good shape but should be re-covered with fronts to match. Engine runs incredibly well and transmission/clutch shifts smoothly. I often use this as my daily driver. All the mechanical is complete, nly cosmetic work still to be done to make this a very valuable Scout. Or, rive it as-is as it is ready to go.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Good luck and happy bidding.
