This is a survivor 1968 International 1200C 3/4-ton 2wd pickup. My great-uncle bought this used in about 1972 and had it ever since. I am the third owner of it. It has a 345 CI engine with a 2-barrel Holley carburetor; 4-speed manual transmission with a 4.10 Dana 60 rear end. This is a pickup that hasn't been butchered and modified to a great degree. Besides some rust and paint fading, it looks about the same as it did in 1968.
The engine is not original; a reman short block was put in it in the 70's or 80's. The floor on the driver's side is rusted through due to the design of the air vents leaking water in when it sits outside in the rain and water sits on the floor. It isn't as bad on the passenger side. The air vents on the inside are rusted out inside as well.
The horn doesn't work using the steering wheel center button - a switch was mounted under the dash to actuate the horn, and this works. The wipers worked last year, but they don't this year. The radio does not work. The fan switch for the heater quit working so a toggle switch was mounted in the dash for it; the heater and fan work. The fuel tank had a leak in it but was fixed about ten years ago. It doesn't leak anymore. The reverse lights do not work. The gauges, lights, dome light, turn signals, brake lights all work.
It starts very easy - choke it and pump it a couple times and it pops right off. I changed all fluids in it, and it drives excellent. I put a new fuel pump in it. The tires are old and weathered, but with having tubes they hold air fine and worked for driving around the yard and driving to and from town. I tuned it up - new plugs, wires, points, rotor, cap, and carburetor kit. I went through the wheel cylinders too after the pickup had sat for a couple years. The brakes work good now and don't leak. The only fluid leak on it that I know of, as I parked it on gravel so it was hard to narrow it down, is the front crank seal seaps, very slow leak. The dash pad is in really good shape, but I put a different factory dash from another pickup, as the one in it was completely shot. It has some cracks in it where the speaker holes are, and there's a split in it on the driver's side. The vinyl is peeling by the amp and fuel gauges. It is in really good shape for an original dash pad. The speedometer was changed at the same time, so it shows less miles than what the pickup really has. I am guessing the pickup has 150,000 miles. I have the owner's manual for it too. The service records for it are still in the glove box. It had all new suspension parts put in it in the 80's, king pins, tie rod ends, etc. It was a long time ago, but it hasn't been driven much since.
I have described this vehicle as best as I can, both in the description and photos so that there are no surprises later. These pickups are rare, and one in the shape this one is in makes it even more sought after. If you have any questions, please email me. Low reserve. Local pick up is fine; I can't arrange shipping, but if you want to arrange it I will do everything I can to facilitate that process with you. If you want to talk to me, please email me your phone number and I will call you. I will not end the auction early - if you want it, bid on it and once the reserve is met it's going to the highest bidder. I would like payment by money order or cash within a week of auction ending. Sold as is. If you need time to come and get it, it can sit here for a long time, I don't care - as long as it's paid for.
