1980 International Scout II Turbo Diesel
SD-33T 6 cyl Nissan Turbo Diesel (close ratio 4 spd, 00 Transfercase, 4 axles front and rear 3.54 gears with factory locking diff, /c converted to 134a, ilt wheel, uckets with console, tock polycast rims and spare, actory am/fm radio (works) dealery installed racor fuel filter and digital clock, airly bone stock except washable air filter, trait exhaust, ockout hubs, ll terrain tires (Scout was parked on pavement at an airport for years and had a lot of surface rust) older restoration (early 2000's) 69 K miles, nly 15 K miles since done all body work replaced with the highest quality sheet metal available thicker than stock from A.T. Scouts, fenders, oorskin, quarters, loors, ounts cut at factory welds and re-seam sealed, or 15, hino lined and undercoated) nicely done and presentable, aint is a 7 out of 10 in my opinion.
List of things done in the last 5 years (parked in storage for 2-3- years): complete 4 wheel (brakes, earings, alipers, otors, rums, eals, emanufactured alternator, ebuilt turbo, elts, ilicone, oses, ilters, xhaust, ll fluids flushed, rive shaft u-joints, et timing, alibrated fuel pump, ebuilt injectors, alves adjusted, low plugs and brand new commercial 1000 CCA battery.
I've owned and maintained Diesel Scouts for 30 years, ave gone through every inch of this one and replaced or upgraded everything that needed to be done to make this a reliable and dependable daily driver. Would not hesitate to drive this anytime or distance, specially since she is set up to get an estimate of 25 mpg (@65 mph), orry no 33gal tank just 19, rives down the road straight and true (no typical scout wander, ut would add a steer straight anyway), very tight, o rattles truck.
Things I didn't get a chance to do in my opinion, djust doors (takes two people to get perfect) re undercoat if you're going to drive year round, uff out paint, einstall roof rack (took off to buff roof, idn't get to it), nstall gauges (pyro, oost, ach). Hydroboost plus high amp GM alternator, 3 gallon tank, nstall front and rear sway bars, as shocks. Could easily be set up to run on WVO. I'm sure there are probably things I forgot to list.
Not a 25 K frame off show Scout, ut a nice and affordable driver that is turn key and go. Average price for a restored Scout in 2014 is 22 to 25 K, survivor is 18 K to 23 K. Sold as is, here is no warranty implied or expressed.
