Description

This1968 Jaguar XK E-type FHCis not restored! The vehicle has been well maintained to the highest of currentowners standards since purchasing in Dec 1998 with 32,000 miles on odometer. At that time, was looking for my 3rd E type, sthe other 2 cars wereneeding repair before making a daily driver, his time I wanted a ALL ORIGINAL E type. The E type was advertised in Hemmings Motor News. As the 2nd owner told me, e had purchased the E type 5 years ago from an Estate sale where the 1st owner had passed away and his kid was selling off the collection, he sale was held in a heated garage, he 2nd owner also kept the E type in a heated garage as both lived in Michigan. This E typehad/has never seen the salt of any winter as there is no rust.. Also I still have most of the 1968parts that have been replaced since purchasing, ew owner is welcome to take if they so want. Original owners pouch npaperwork, tc are in car yet.

AS of today Mar. 5th, 016, he E type is95+% original in owners opinion, fast, ell handling, ighly maintained and good looking E-type! When I went to check over this E-type, he dash clock was inop, indscreen was pitted, lear coat was starting to let go, ear hatch glass was chipped, ash pad was cracked in the center, ngine oil was black as night and there were coolant leaks from various engine components but ALL ORIGINAL. I bought it and drove it back to San Diego in Jan. of 1999,it took3 days n had no problems except to find out the 4.2L engine was wearing out.

(btw) when purchasing parts...1st choice was OEM part or OEM aftermarket part, nd choice was updated or superceded OEM part and 3rd was aftermarket or fitable part from different make n model of vehicle which only happened when fitting in the updated A/C system and the center armrest with cupholder.

Most asked ? so far is,Does the engine overheat? No, ever as installing heavy duty puller & pusher fans along with the upgraded cooling system, he engine temp gaugeneedle stays around the M letter of NORMAL printed on gauge. I just took a trip to Palm Springs where tempis like where I live, RICKINHOT!While driving back home in early afternoon, /C was at maximum, utsidetemp was90+ degrees, nly timetemp needle went a little past the Lof NORMALon guagewas whenI got stuck for 10-15 minutes, while not moving at all, aiting for construction vehicles to clear. Once traffic started to move again, emp needle was at its normal place on gauge.
