Description

This is a 1965 Jaguar S Type. It is a non export RHD 3. 4 4 speed with overdrive. IRS rear suspension. 4 wheel disc brakes with rear inboard. Car number 1B2607DN. Body number 4B2943. Engine number 7B2983-8. Tranny number JBN907. All original. . Before I part it out into a million pieces. I thought I would see if anyone can use it the way it is. It is an unfinished project that has sat stored for decades. It has rust. it needs metalwork. it needs paint. he brakes are out. it does not drive down the road now. Nor has it for at least the last 25 years. The fellow I bought this from here in Prescott. z got it here in Prescott in the late 80's. And had been working on it since then till he passed a few years ago. He has a very. ery detailed diary of everything he had done over the decades. With pictures. receipts. records. commentary. . Before he bought it . I have no clue where it was. But it must of started it's life in sometimes dreary wet England . As the lower part of this car has rust damage. The previous owner was trying to do bodywork here and there. but it really needs to be done correctly. With metalwork and welding and not the bondo he used. He says in his diary he replaced both rocker panels. The jackpoints are weak. the lower and inner rockers are bad. And some other areas. But the floors are overall solid and nice. as is the trunk and spare box. There is a small cut in the rightside inner wheel well in the engine bat right behind the radiator. . Not sure why. He redid the entire interior. Redid the wood. New glass. new glass gaskets. ew carpet and door panels. He redid the seats. in and out. But used vinyl which has faded here and there due to sitting for decades in the Arizona sunshine. The engine is beautiful. He shows in the paperwork it has 120-125 PSI. straight across. The selller said in his diary in 1989 that the car had 7801 original miles on it. And only has a few more miles since while he moved the car around his property from time to time. He would start the car regularly and would move it to keep everything moving. He had it licensed and insured for all the years he owned it but I do not think he ever drove it down the road. I can not and will not guaranty the miles he stated are correct. Though the engine bay and the footpedals show minimal wear and tear. the bottom side shows too much wear and tear to me to be so low mile a car. Unless it sat in a English bog broke down for years early in it's life. The engine will fire right up. un smooth as can be. Sounds great. But the carbs start puking fuel pretty quick and should be gone thru before running too long. He has an amazing detailed list of everything he has done to the car since the 80's. Rebuilt this. hat and everything in between. He rigged up an aftermarket turn signal setup to deal with the dicey stock problematic stock signal. new fuel pumps. went thu the fuel tanks. cooling system. got all the dash swiches and lights working. and so on. This car deserves to get back out on the road again. It needs professional or at least very experienced body work done to repair the rust areas. But with this nice an interior. ith an drivetrain this clean. ith so much work done to it over the last quarter century. it will be worth doing. These are great cars. That are getting a bit more pricey every year. Straight clean Arizona title ready to go. Local inspection is highly recommended. Either by you or a friend. Local pickup encouraged. I travel around the country with my truck and trailer and might be able to get it close to you for reasonable money. And arranging overseas shipping from Long Beach is no problem.
