Description
*** You need to check with your state's DMV and make sure you can obtain a title for this vehicle PRIOR to placing a bid. Alabama law does not require titles for vehicles 35+ years old therefore it does not have a title and will only come with a bill of sale. There is a slideshow with more detailed pics at the bottom of the auction. *** 1957 Jaguar Mark 1. Originally called "the Jaguar 2. 4". This car is complete but will need total restoration. Probably on a rotisserie. It is rough but restorable. All the bones are good. It was originally white with red leather seats and comes with its original full rear wheel skirts and 4 original wheels. It has the 2. 4L inline 6 dual overhead cam as all the old Jaguars do with a manual transmission. The data tag under the hood is missing but the car # is stamped on the hood latch. The engine # is clearly stamped on the engine. I would think the transmission is original as well and stamped. So everything is there for the new owner to send off to the Jaguar registry and get a new data plate for it. The engine is complete. Some parts are removed but they come with the car. The cam covers. two carburetors. a breather. an exhaust manifold. the radiator. the transmission tunnel cover. the heater box. the hood hinges. and the original jack and more all come with the car (see the pics). Most of the trim is there. However. there are NO BUMPERS. A few of the windows are missing as well. The body on this car is pretty straight. However. it will need rust repair in the rockers and wheelhouses. There is also a spot over the passenger rear wheel (see the pics). The rear deck lid is repairable and so are all the doors. There is a dent in the passenger rear door that will have to be popped out. It is large and fairly shallow. It will need front and rear floor pans and the trunk pan will needs patching/replacing as well. The dash wood will have to be replaced as well as all of the interior panels. The seats come with the car and just need new foam and recovering. I know you can order alot of this online. Again. this car is rough but the bones are solid. These sell for $20-35k when restored and this would be a beautiful color combo. I included some pics of restored cars to show what this car could be when completed. I also have a burgundy 1966 Jaguar S-Type for sale in similar condition.
