1968 Jaguar 2+2 E-type-
I am making an effort to become more organized (read: make my wife happy) and winnow out some of the projects that I have held on to for far too long. I have come to the realization that I will not have the time anywhere in the near future to do this restoration so I offer her here on Ebay in the hopes that someone will buy her and restore her to her former grandeur. Since fully restored E-types now go for prices much higher than what your normal man can ever hope to afford and most of those are heading back to Europe, I am glad to be able to offer one that a average Joe can buy and restore as time and money allow. I have had this car in my shed for quite some time now so, please pardon the dust and general lack of tidiness.
The differential is the original 3.54 ratio. It and the rear suspension are complete. The gearbox, is the proper 4.2 4-speed and is complete. The engine is not original to the car but is a 4.2 . I would expect it would be wise to go through all three drive train units in the course of restoration.
Body description- The inner and outer sills are pretty good but will need a bit of patching. As you will see in the pictures, the car needs floors. The boot floor is solid and, I believe, rust free. The rear hatch is rust free but the lower water gutter area on the body will need some repair. The doors need the lower panels replaced but all the hardware and glass are in them and they roll up and down. The bonnet has slight rust but is very solid overall. The lower valance has an 8” x 8” patch in it.
When I originally got the car, the seats, radio console and center console were AWOL. Naturally, there are some other parts that will need to be sourced as well. What you see in the pictures and in my description are what the winning bidder gets. Please do not hesitate to email with any questions you may have.
The car will come with a State of Georgia Bill of Sale along with a letter from the State explaining that cars built before 1980 don’t require a title to be bought and sold. I can provide a current registration if need be. The winning bidder will need to arrange shipping. I am retired and my schedule will be flexible for helping with loading.
There will be a non- refundable $500.00 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close and the balance will need to be satisfied with seven days of auction end. Thank you for your interest and happy bidding!706-816-1608
