Description

Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car, n sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, n order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

West Coast Classics are proud to present an extraordinarily rare and completely rust free genuine 'barn find' example of this coveted original southern California 1964 Jaguar XKE E-Type Series I coupe with a highly desirable 4 speed manual transmission and with it's original matching #'s 3.8L 265HP 6 cylinder engine with original triple SU carburetors and with its all original black interior with wooden steering wheel and original five factory chrome wire knock-off wheels and tools!
This is a truly marvelous mostly all original and stock example of this coveted first series of E-Type Jaguars, ith the legendary glass covered headlights, mall 'mouth' opening at the front, .8L liter engine with the triple SU carburetors, ircraft style toggle switches and rear tail and signal lamps positioned handsomely above the chrome rear bumper! It is also of considerable note that this fine example has been in the same southern California family ownership for over 40 years! So here it is, completely unrestored southern California 1964 Jaguar XKE E-Type Series 1 Coupe with the 4 speed manual transmission coupe and with it's original matching #'s 6 cylinder 3.8/265HP engine with four original Jaguar chrome knock off spoked wire wheels, actory tools, ack, allet and spare chrome wire wheel!
The car is reported to have only some 56K original miles by its previous long time owner who purchased the car many years ago from its original southern California owner and who had stored it in his dry southern California enclosed garage and had only driven it some 4,500 miles since 1977, ith it being mostly garaged and unserviced since 1977! The original owner was reportedly a meticulous engineer who kept a documented history of the cars service history until 1977 by using the by then customary tradition of periodically engraving the cars service history on the inside of the cars hood. We recently purchased the car from this second southern California owner and following its purchase we delivered it to our local independent Jaguar specialist, he renown 'Frank McLain & Sons' of Encino, A (who has been in the same location since 1963!) who went through the car completely mechanically for us, ompleting the following work over a period of several weeks at a cost of over $13,000 to us personally with service records available;

Obviously the car now therefore drives very well and as a razor straight and completely rust free California car, t is a prime candidate for a full cosmetic restoration for the Jaguar enthusiast or simply a great daily driver for any classic British sports car lover! The floor boards and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid, riginal and rust-free! The car has no signs of any accidents of any kind and has a razor straight body with what seems to be a lot of its original paint. It sports its original factory 'Pale Primrose' color paint which has some light scratches and imperfections from its many years spent 'unattended' in the garage and yet the car's all original interior is still quite impressive with both front bucket seats, he door panels, headliner, ashboard and carpets all quite original and in very presentable condition throughout. Please note the car also has it's original spare wire knock off wheel and its original tools and mallet in the trunk.
This is therefore an extremely rare opportunity for the Jaguar or British classic sports car enthusiast who is looking to buy a great and mostly all original and unrestoredrust free example of an original southern California 1964 Jaguar XKE Series I 3.8L coupe with its highly desirable matching #'s engine and 4 speed manual transmission with only some 56K original miles ~ the perfect potential candidate for the enthusiast to restore all the way to its former glory or simply a great daily driving 'barn find' for any classic sports car collector!
