Rust free 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 OTS convertible roadster

Mild custom with 427 Short Block Chevrolet crate engine and T10 4 speed manual.

This roadster is from Southern California, mported to Canada in 2003 with mileage of 31,298. Kept warm and dry since and the mileage today is 37,575

Straight and rust free. The body and paint are in good condition with some imperfections.

Robbins soft top was installed in 2004 and is in good overall condition with exception to one noticeable nick in it. Interior and lower console need refurbishment work.

This roadster had a 350 Chev in it when purchased by the previous owner and the original engine and transmission were not available. The previous owner spent significant time, oney, nd effort completing a 427 SBC transplant. This crate engine comes complete with Dart block, ustom crank, ods and pistons, NC port matched edelbrock intake and aluminium heads, nd custom 1 3/4" headers. The previous owner stated that no cutting welding or drilling was done in the process – I can’t be sure so I’ll let the pictures do the talking. Brand new clutch hydraulic actuator installed.

More recently an inspection was completed with request to provide a detailed list of items to address, nd the following items were listed:

• Engine tune up
• Door adjustment
• Incorrect wiper blades
• Hood safety latch needs adjusting
• Heater fan not working
• Window washer not working
• High beam, arking, nd hazard lights not working
• Fuel return line not working (currently operating as returnless), nd leak detected at line coupling
• One horn working, nd the other not working
• LH header close to P/S fitting
• Oil leak L/R engine
• Engine/trans/and exhaust mounts require isolation
• Brake squeal
• Ball joint + bushings all around
• Rad fan not functioning. Thermo switch not currently connected
• Replace brake flex hoses and fix brake and fuel lines to body

Although drive-able, his Jaguar needs some attention to get it over the finish line.

The direction I was planning on was in Jaguar purist fashion to fit the period correct series 1 V12 and Borg Warner auto which can be sourced cost effectively from an early XJ12 or alternatively a donor S3 E-type 2+2, nd funded partially by selling existing engine and transmission. As the story goes, ith family commitments time is the hardest thing to come by. The decision is to move on prior to getting in too deep and the next owner can decide which direction to take this Jaguar.That said I would like another classic I can deal with local mechanics to maintain.Got any interesting trades along the lines of air cooled Porsche 911, 28 GTS, ercedes, ston, unbeam Tiger, lfa Romeo, ancia, aserati, errari 308 328 Testarossa?

E-Type Series 1's seems to be skyrocketing in value with roadsters being the most collectible. Series 2 and 3 E-Types are following suit. So what you have here is an affordable opportunity to purchase an E-Type OTS to which your effort is worthwhile.

This is the first listing and I plan to sell. If I didn't judge the reserve and BIN right I'll re-list with better information to go on the second time around.

Regarding shipping: Halifax, ova Scotia, anada is a port city on the Atlantic coast with a roll-on, oll-off service available, epending on the destination. Boat shipment (to Europe and beyond) is very reasonable, n the region of $1000-$2000. By land, have shipped cross continent to Halifax in enclosed trailer transport for approximately $2500 CDN. Hope this gives you an idea, ut I encourage you to get your own quotes.

Warranty, erms, nd Conditions

This car is being sold as is, here is, ith no warranty. I will accept a $2000 non-refundable deposit within 2 days of auction end. The balance must be received by wire transfer within 7 days of auction end and clear into my account before I transfer the title and give possession. I prefer 100% payment by wire transfer if this is agreeable to the buyer. A copy of the clear title and further evidence of legitimacy can be supplied with sale pending. I won’t charge for admin but ask that you reimburse me for any courier fees required to transport documentation.

Shipping and export/import is the sole responsibility of the buyer. I will assist your shipper in loading at an agreeable time.

Regarding duty free shipping to the US, have an official signed/stamped copy of import document (from California to Canada), ontaining VIN and buyer and seller addresses. Hopefully this is enough proof to show the car is being re-patratriated, hereby saving a US buyer from import duty - As per terms I accept no responsibility here, ut worth checking into.
