Truly one of the best Jaguar E-Type coupes we have ever had the privilege to offer.
Introduced in 1961, he E-Type roadster proved to be an immediate success. Designed under the guidance of Sir William Lyons, he car was a longer and lower version of Jaguar's D-Type. Manufactured between 1961 and 1975, ts combination of good looks, igh performance, nd competitive pricing established the marquee as an icon of 1960s motoring. On its release Enzo Ferrari called it "The most beautiful car ever made".
1R27025 was completed at the Browns Lane Jaguar works on October 8, 969 as a US market example, istributed through the British Leyland handler in New York. According to the previous and second caretaker, his E-Type is said to have remained with its original owner, n architect, rom 1969 until 2013. Carefully stored in a heated garage by its long-term owner Mr. Robert Halander, locking about 80,000 miles over the course of its lifetime before deciding in 2004 to commission a ground-up restoration entrusted to two well-known restoration establishments.
Jaguar expert Walt Osborn of Vintage Jag Works was retained for mechanical aspects of the restoration, hile body and paintwork was performed by Troy Lundquist Restorations of Sandy, tah. The Jaguar's original leather upholstery and trim were carefully preserved rather than restored and highly compliment the exterior's British Racing Green. The bright work was also re-chromed, hile the matching numbers 4.2-liter straight six engine was rebuilt. After restoration was complete, he car was driven about 4,500 additional miles by its life-long owner before it was acquired by the second caretaker.
Offered with its original owner's operating handbook, aguar Heritage Trust certificate, ack, nd knock-off hammer, his Coupe has most recently received a Jaguar class win and presents as an exceptional example of the late six-cylinder XKE. The stances of this car is truly breathtaking with an abnormally laser straight body/panel fit, igh quality paint, xpertly detailed engine bay and a show standard undercarriage. The driving feel is as one would imaging, porty, ight and very responsive. Overall this is a very "dialed in" turn-key example.
