I am resisting this Jaguar due to new information about the engine. The car was sold to me as a matching number car, ut the engine number does not match. When we discovered this we ended the auction to protect people who had bid on incorrect info. This auction is for a 1954 Jaguar XK120 convertible. I have owned this vehicle for approximatelyfour years. It was restored by a previous owner 15 years ago to and painted to match his 1998 Jaguar. I did not like the non-original color and found a poorly performed repair in the right front fender. I wanted to take it back to the original cream exterior and red interior colors and entered into a restoration that has snowballed into something much bigger than I expected.
This XK 120 is a great project. We have stripped it down to bare metal and completely disassembled it. All of the Bondo was removed from the front right fender and it was properly repaired.The non-originalengine has been machined and is ready for reassembly. This full restoration now needs to be completed. Thankfully, ll parts are there for the vehicle. It needs paint and reassembly.Please refer to the pictures. We have detailed pictures of the block stampings and will include those pictures. One emailer has suggested that the block is actually from an xk150. I have not confirmed this. The stamping on the block is V3023-8
We have a Jaguar Heritage certificate on the vehicle and receipts showing the work done so far in this restoration.
