All my contact info is at the bottom of this auction, in the "contact us" section.

We are an RV dealer in the mountains of Western Maryland. You are looking at a non-RV that we took on trade towards an RV. It is a privately-owned unit that was traded in to our dealership - it is NOT a repo, it is NOT a salvage piece. We avoid items like those, for the same reason you do - you just don't know what you're getting. But if a customer wants to trade an item like this in, towards an RV purchase...well...equity is equity, and if we think we can sell it, we'll take it on trade! This item is NOT AVAILABLE to Maryland residents, due to the state's vehicle inspection and dealer licensing rules. Click here to see the ridiculous list of items that Maryland makes us check before we can sell to a MD resident.

While this is a nice unit (see description below for details)...it has NOT been through our shop for the Maryland state safety inspection. The way Maryland law is written, and the way they word their dealer licenses (I am a state-licensed dealership), I cannot sell a vehicle to a Maryland resident unless it has passed inspection. Since that's the case, this item has to go to a NON-Maryland buyer. Out-of-state bidders? GO FOR IT, you've got a shot at a great deal here!! It's beach season - and here's the perfect Jeep for playing in the sand!! I'm a Jeep guy, own two of them now, and even driving this one just a short distance I can tell it'll get you where you need to go without a hiccup. It runs great. It starts right up. No noises, no smoke, no nothing, just fires up like it's a new car. The transmission shifts surprisingly smoothly through all gears, and the clutch is nice and light. The throttle has a monster return spring on it though - you have to make a point of it when you step on the gas, that pedal definitely pushes back (if you don't like it...it's a carburetor, swapping the spring is EASY to do)! The brakes work well, but they're definitely old-school manual drums all around. And...that sums up the whole Jeep, really. Old-school. Analog. Interactive. This is definitely NOT a brand-new Grand Cherokee - it doesn't insulate you from road bumps, or wind, or noise, or anything like that. It makes you PART of all that, and that's why they're so much fun!! There's no Nav. No bluetooth. No surround sound, or heated seats, or a/c, or touchscreen stereo. But...that's OK! It's a VERY COOL, ready-to-get-dirty, go-out-and-have-fun CJ. Does it seem like a lot of money for an '83? Sure. But you couldn't build this CJ for this price - and here, all you have to do is turn the key and go! Think about how much was put into this one, rebuilding it ALL. Inside and out, top to bottom, front to back, cosmetic and mechanical...it's a "new" '83! You could spend MORE on a brand new Jeep...but this one is so COOL, and it'll do all the "Jeep stuff" that a new one will do! And, you have less stuff to break on this one. If something does break, it's easier to troubleshoot and fix (there may be 5 wires on this whole truck...a new one? MILES of wiring, and a few dozen computers...). This one is...basic. It's functional. It's clean. It's re-done from top to bottom. Clean. Simple. Classic.

The interior is like new. Original gauges...but everything else has been totally redone. Carpet. Seats. Top. Roll bar. Paint. Locking console. It has a tilt steering wheel for easy in/out. The heater will melt your shoes if you want it to! And yes...it's a CJ with a soft top and doors, when it rains really hard, the carpets get wet. No big surprise to me. My Jeep? First thing I did was pull the carpet and seats, and had the whole interior Line-X coated. This CJ is so nice...I'd do the same here if it was mine. Seal up the floors before they have a chance to rust (they're rock-solid right now)! The only thing that stood out inside? No stereo. The dash is cut out for an old-school 2-knob stereo - it has NOT been cut up - but there's nothing there right now. Find yourself an original. Get one of the "vintage" updated stereos with digital internals behind a stock looking faceplate. Or go ahead and cut the dash and put in a modern DIN size stereo with bluetooth, and iPod control, and all that good stuff - I put one in my truck for like $89.95 a few weeks ago. Whatever your choice...you can decide. Me? I would't bother with a stereo in this one. It's a soft-top CJ with big knobby tires on it - they're not exactly quiet when you're driving. Put one in so you have a clock to look at, but other than that...just enjoy the sound of the Flowmaster exhaust.

Just as pristine as the interior. Arrow-straight tub. Clean, solid frame and floors. Nice aftermarket wheels and big knobby tires. A hitch-mounted spare tire holder instead of the tailgate-mount (I like this better, keeps weight off your tailgate hinges). New brake lines and braided hoses. New shocks. Obviously a lift kit...but I don't know what size. 6" maybe? The only flaw outside...some bubbling along the bottom of the windshield frame. The tub, hood, cowl, and fenders look perfect but the bottom edge of the windshield frame support may not have been properly prepped...but that's the worst part about it (and you can see in the photos that it's not horrible). Underhood is nice and clean and organized, and you can tell they put a lot of care and effort into building this one correctly. And it really does run like a champ - turn the key and it cranks ONE time, and fires up. I've driven fuel injected vehicles that have a harder start than this one! As noted below in the "terms of sale" section, this is not available to MD residents, sorry. Our state's inspection rules are so crazy-strict, the fact this CJ doesn't have the original emissions equipment means it won't pass. We saw that, and we stopped checking items right then. Anyone out of state, though? You've got a shot at a GREAT beach truck!!

Why do we sell on eBay? Exposure, plain and simple. We want as many people as possible to see our items, so we can sell more of them. Why should I buy here on eBay? CONVENIENCE. You don't have to be here in person to make the unit yours! You click the button; you make the deposit; and the unit is YOURS. I lock it up and mark it sold, and nobody messes with it. We sort all the paperwork electronically, and I get everything prepped so you can make ONE TRIP to pick it up, pay for it, and take it home with you! And if you're a remote buyer (not local to Maryland), I'm used to dealing with shippers and all the extra paperwork that's involved for remote buyers. It's what I do, day in and day out, and your paperwork will be done quickly and correctly so all you have to do is enjoy your purchase! What do we sell on eBay? We're an RV dealer, and we sell clear-title, private-party trade-ins. There's a scrolling gallery on every one of my auction pages that shows all our current listings - we've got a little of everything. Want a dirt-cheap project camper? Got 'em. Want a good deal on a nice RV? Got those too. Motorized, towable, popups, 5th wheels, travel trailers, you name it and I probably have one (or more) that will fit what you're looking for. And sometimes...we even have cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats...just keep an eye on our listings, you never know what might pop up! Don't see what you're looking for? Email me! I'll see what else we've got in stock that might work for you! Just because it's not on eBay doesn't mean we don't have it - we've got nearly 500 UNITS IN STOCK!! Can I come see an item in person before I bid? SURE!! Our location is at the top of this ad - there's a link to us on Mapquest, you can plot your directions right there. Just make sure when you get here, that you ASK FOR JOE (THE EBAY GUY). Why do I need to ask for Joe? Because I'm the eBay guy! I write all these ads personally. I take all the photos personally. I go through all the units personally. I don't use website photos or canned descriptions - I walk through them and check them out for you with my own two eyes. All that takes time, and effort - and let's face it, it's what got you interested in this item to begin with! If you have questions about this item...I've gone through it personally, and I can answer all your questions because of it. Sure, there are other salespeople here - but we all get our pricing from the same managers, so talking to someone else in the hopes they'll come up with a lower price than you see here on eBay? It won't work (and that's a direct quote from the company owner), so ASK FOR JOE and you're going to get a great unit for a great price, from someone who's gone through it personally and checked everything out for you so you know what you're getting for your money!! Ask for Joe - you get a great unit for a great price, I get paid for all the hard work I do...everyone goes home happy! Can I buy it outside of eBay? I guess you could...but why? My pricing here is thousands below retail - I've DONE your haggling for you already! eBay is quick, and it's easy. You don't have to be here in person, just click the button, make the deposit...and it's all yours! Locked up and waiting for you to arrive! There are no surprise fees when you buy it here - for you, or for me. I pay my listing fees when I put an item online, and there are no fees when they sell on eBay. And lastly, if I have to pull an item because of an off-eBay sale...it hurts my seller rating (eBay sees it as a "failure to fulfill an order"), so we try really hard not to do that. If you want to see it in person, come out and see it...but ask for Joe and bring your smartphone so you can click that button on the lot. People do it all the time! When you do, you get a great deal on an item...and I get paid for the work I did writing the ad! If you buy it from one of my coworkers...I don't get paid for all the work I did on the ad!! That doesn't save you any money...it just means THEY get paid, NOT ME. Do you like getting paid for the work you do? So do I !!!!!!! So...BRING YOUR PHONE and be ready to CLICK THAT BUTTON!!
