Description

This auction is formy 1944 Willys MB Jeep with the two-way radio only. Some of the pictures show other accessories these accessoriesare NOT included with the Jeep. Emily (the name given to the Jeep and painted on the windshield frame) saw action in the Normandy invasion the previous owner said that it landed at theOmaha Beachhead. He said that the bumper tow bar was used to unload 10 Jeeps at a time from the LCT's afterOmaha Beach was won. Emily was used in the campaign to free Paris. After Paris was won General Eisenhower loaned Emily and a lot of other equipment to France for the soldiers to mop up the leftover Nazi soldiers while the American Army headed for Berlin. Decades after the war was over the French sent Emily back home and she eventually became mine.

Emily is in excellent condition and has been kept indoors since she came home. This is an authentic 1944 Willys Jeep its serial number (19754) indicates that it was made in early 1944. The tow bar was used and issued for the ability to unload jeeps onto the beach. The data plates on the dashboard and glove box are in French. There is a small data plate (not American) that indicates that it received an inspection and overhaul in 1966 by the French.

Emily still has an original 6-volt electrical system. There is a gun mount at the right corner of the windshield frame. The French liked this location more than the Americans. We the Americans preferred the tripod mount in the rear with the gunner standing.

The paint is original; hood numbers and stars are original. The engine is a Go-Devil 4-Cyl. flathead which runs great and is clean. Drive train is complete and operable. Body is clean without rust or damages. Emily is really great she saw battle and lived to remind us of how Great we once were.

I would keep her forever but I am almost 80 and hope to give her a new home for her to live on.

This auction is the only fair way for Emily to go on.
