Description

For sale is an artifact of times past, hen America was at war with Germany and her allies including Japan. This Jeep was manufactured in the USA and made it's way to the Philippines where General McArthur was theField Marshalof the Philippine Army and played a prominent role in the Pacific theater during World War II.
In 2009 I walked the route of the Bataan Death March (it was long and hot) Along the way I spotted this WWII vintage Army Jeep in a barn (or the equivalent of a barn) It was covered in dust and had not been moved for years. I negotiated payment and sent a truck to pick it up and take it to a place in Pampanga where it was cleaned, he engine fixed up and new seats and top fitted. I am told it is a 1941 model and the windshield has been replaced with a newer one, owever since what I know about Jeeps you can write on the back of a very small postage stamp, make no promises orrepresentations.
The original hear of this beast has been removed and a new engine replaced at some time with a motor which works well, think it is a Toyota motor with a 4 speed manual gear box.
As you may be able to tell from the pictures, am an Australian and I had the guy paint some Aussie stuff on the Jeep. I imagine you will want to remove it and replace the Kangaroo with a Star.
This is no ordinary Jeep, here many Jeeps would have given up the ghost and rusted away, his did not. Most likely because it was washed with the tears of the Virgin Mary before she was put into the shed and this seems to have preserved it pretty well.
Since it was shipped to the USA it has been driven around by me on atemporaryregistration, he longest outing being from my house to the kids school which is all of 8 miles round trip. It does not have a USA title. I attempted to get one however the leper colony known as the Phoenix DMV was so busy and chaotic and the person whose job it is to advise on subject matter such as "Untitled Vehicles" was so unhelpful and rude that I had to leave the place before I poured gasoline all over my body and set myself on fire. I have not been back since. Over the past 4 years it has been on display in a custom home garage in a high end community model home inTucson.
If this vehicle could tell a story I am sure it would be a good one and include acts of valor onlyimaginableby Veterans of Foreign Wars. I am sure it saw hard core WWII action, huttling troops to the front lines where theygallantlyfought the Japanese. Either that or it was used to run grocery errands by an officers wife in Manila. I prefer the former story, t sounds much better.
The Jeep can be described as a driver with issues. The issues include the back brakes and everything to do with the fact that the car is now 74 years old and was in a war in the Philippines. If you ignore those issues the Jeep is in perfect condition and looks just like it did when it drove out of the jungle following General Wainwright's surrender on April 9, 942.
There are some cars which just make you sing God Save America while waving the American Flag, miling at a Bald Eagle as it soars past, hile eating a donut and chugging a beer. This is one of them. When you get behind the wheel you immediately become 1865% cooler. Even if you are the ugliest man God every put breath into with a head like a robbers dog, omen will wind down their windows, mile at you and wave. Young children will run after you waving and cheering at your masculine machoness and people driving German and Japanese cars will give way in deference to your Americaness.
Everybody loves a winner (with Donald Trump being the only possible exception) and since we won the war, his car is part of that win. So every time you drive it you are in effect doing a victory lap, elebrating a time when men were men, omen were women and Bruce Jenner wore flats. If you love your country, nd I don't mean "like it a little bit", mean "love it with all your heat and soul" - you must bid on this Jeep and bid often.
If you are nervous your wife may not approve of your purchase - fear not my eBay bidding buddy. This is the kind of car on which it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. So cute is this Jeep that even the most mean woman, ith a heart of ice and vinegar in her veins, ill approve and most likely reward you with some patriotic womanly love.
If by chance you are a woman, hen ordinarily I would expect you to be upset with my male gender references, ut not this time, ecause you know and I know that you are the rare exception to the rule and you don't let things like political correctness bother you, ou will just buy this Jeep and run me over at the first opportunity you have.
Some people may fear the unknown expense of owning a Jeep such as this. Again I say fear not patriots, or this is the kind of Jeep where mechanics will most likely pay you to have them fix it. Such a draw card is this Jeep that the average mechanic under 80 years of age has never seen such a wonder, nd to have it parked in the shop is akin to having baby Jesus sleeping on your sofa.
So why would I sell this artifact, his rare gem of history I hear you ask. Because I simply can no longer absorb the patriotism it gives off, e being Australian and all, nd it is time that someone else revel in the wonder that is this Jeep.
I make no promises about its operating condition other than to say it has made it this far and chances are it will still be running when your great grand children are kicking a soccer ball on the grass under which you are buried.
I am starting the bidding low, n order to give as many people a chance to say "I once bid on a piece of American war history" but of course, ust as we kicked ass in WWII, nly one person will emergevictoriousin the battle to win this automotive masterpiece.
I have taken pictures of her in both the Philippines (roof on) and Phoenix (roof off) the top is included.
If you have any questions - make them easy ones which do not involve me having to crawl under the Jeep to find the answer.
Thank you patriots for looking and bidding on this Jeep. I hope you win the auction and drive off into the sunset with anorchestral rendition of the National Anthem ringing in your most American of ears.

By the way I would normally have sold this on my normal eBay account graeme2286 however it would not work for some reason so I had to make a new one. I have great feedback and service
Also I think this was made by Willys Although it doesn't say it anywhere I am aware of, omeone told me it was.
Finally it does run and drive - it starts right up - the back brakes need fixing
Thanks
