The Espada is continuing to gain in value as these 12 cylinder beauties taketheir place alongside such other Lamborghini classics like the Miura. This car is a Series 3 the most advanced version available.Background: The car was designed byMarcello GandiniatBertone. Gandini drew inspiration and cues from two of his Bertoneshow carsfrom 1967 theLamborghini Marzaland theJaguar Piraña.[1]

Rear viewThe Espada was a four-seater GT selling alongside the 2+2400GTand the mid-enginedMiura. 1217 Espadas were made making it the most successful Lamborghini model until the expansion ofCountachproduction in the mid-1980s.

The name "Espada" means "sword" inSpanish referring to the sword that theTorerouses tokill the bullin theCorrida.

During its ten years in production the car underwent some changes and three different series were produced. These were the S1 (1968–1970) the S2 (1970–1972) and the S3 (1972–1978). Each model featured interior redesigns while only minor details were changed on the exterior.
