If you are searching for a Defender than you likely know all about them and this one is truly ONE of a Kind. I purchased thisas a project and after rebuilding it into what you see in the pics, am ready to start another project so this one has got to go to clear room.I have since rebuilt just about every facet of the vehicle . The truck is in Dallas TX and I can provide the names and numbers to the shops that did the work as well as always welcome to show it or have it looked at by an independent mechanic. The engine and all mechanical work was done within the last 500 miles.
NOTE - I put 1980 in the descriptor due to EBAY not liking the British VIN numbers of these older trucks. This is a 1986 Land Rover Defender, ith clean title from the state of Texas. (I bought it from the Carolinas and transferred to Texas, o lien, itle in hand.)
Picture Notes- Company logo on side and back windows will peel right off. The three snow pictures were mid-mod so you can see it without light bars and headlamp covers.
Full listing of work completed is found below:
Exterior Modification:
New Paint Job - this beauty has been sprayed with a Kevlar infused bed/liner material to give it a one off look. This work was done by one of the partners that originated the "Starwood Jeeps" that made the bed-coating paint jobs famous all over the world. An incredible exterior and truly nothing else like it.
Light Rack and Bull Bar added and completed with 5 LED light bars.
All exterior lighting(including headlamps)has been upgraded to clear LED for both a clean look and much brighter/safer visibility.
Tires are in incredible shape, ractically new tread with Black Powder coated rims - matching spare.
Brand New suspension and coils.
Interior Mods:
Fully carpeted front to back with multiple layers of floor insulation to deaden the interior cab noise.
Front seats are newly installed top of the line leather buckets with matching center console.
Back seats are black leather buckets that flip up and out of the way for full access to cargo space
Added amplifier, ustom rear speaker enclosures and new dash speakers...its a defender, till not going to win a stereo contest...although its much better sounding.
Mechanical Work completed since my ownership: (done by one of the premiere vintage rover shops in North Texas)
Complete engine rebuild inclusive of fabrication and installation of new motor mounts.
New front axle and complete service of front brakes, oints, tc. (NO dreaded Land Rover Death Wobble anymore.)
Complete service to back brakes.
New Power Steering Pump, asher pump, an and Fan clutch, oses, tc.
In addition, have had a dual battery system with T-Max splitter put into the truck. Both batteries are Blue Top Optimas with one handling stereo and all fogs and the other the car operation.
