Description

1975 Land Rover Series III 109 3 Door 2.25 Diesel- right hand drive. This is a former South African military Land Rover legally imported from South Africa by myself in 2011 after owning it in South Africa. Unlikely many military Land Rovers, his one was built in England (I have authenticity certificate). This vehicle comes with both pickup+tailgate and full canopy with rear door. It has a safari rack, s well as quite a few extra parts. I hate to sell it but my family and off the grid house needs a complete new solar setup more than I need the Landy. I will be clear up front that I do not know how many miles are on the car. The prior owner replaced the engine and I have replaced the speedometer/odometer which was not working.
This vehicle is in good working order and is legally titled and registered. It is smog exempt in California. The paint is in good shape, the interior is fair and it runs well. The engine is the stock 2.25 diesel motor. The rear tire mount is modified from a Defender and has a lockable clasp on back. It has a roll bar that fits regardless of which top is on. It comes with two military style jump seats for the back. The full canopy has two side windows from a Defender that are the sliding opening style so that folks in back can get some air. It has clasps for a military canvas top. Currently it has the full hardtop on and that is the way I will sell it. It will come with the pickup canopy and tailgate on the side as part of the selling price. It also comes with an extra hood and a number of extra suspension and random other parts. I could be talked out of an extra Defender transfer case and gearbox that I brought over in case I ever wanted to do the tdi conversion as I had on a Land Rover IIA when I lived in South Africa. I have a new set of windshield halves that I may or may not get around to installing but they will go with regardless.
Unfortunately for many, live in a fairly remote location so serious inquiries please and we can schedule a meeting. A benefit of making the trek here is that there are numerous locations within a mile that allow the full 4WD capabilities of this Land Rover to be tested. I can send a video of the engine running and can send more photos as needed. Please respond with your phone number and I will call you back promptly.
