’93 Lexus SC 300. Strong runner. “2J” engine had to be replaced a couple of years ago with a used one that had 80k miles on it at the time; has about 85k on it now. Transmission shifts well with no problems. Steering a bit choppy until the pump warms up, then is fine. New rear brake rotors and pads installed recently, and sale includes new rotors and pads for the front that I never got around to installing. Right lower ball joint needs replacing. Small oil leak/drip from oil pressure sensor seal. Otherwise mechanically, it runs and drives great.
Interior: Front seats and center console cushion in bad need of re-covering. Rear seats fair but torn in back left corner. Carpet in fair to good condition. A/C LCD display is new with no fade or blotches in the screen. A/C works but needs freon. All gauges work but the illuminated tach and speedo needles need to be serviced or replaced. Speedo needle works fair; tachometer one does not. Both are visible during the daytime but background display bulbs need replacing as well. Kits to repair/update the needles, new bulbs, as well as completelyreconditioned gauge displays are readily-available on ebay. Radio works great but CD changer does not (again, easy to find on ebay). Power windows and seats work fine, power locks need a little work, as does the power antenna. Optional passenger cup holder; pretty rare in the SC 300.
Exterior: Original paint that needs to be redone. Large chip on hood and very workable dent just in front of the driver’s door (non-collision related, long story). So far as I know it's never been hit. No detectable rust anywhere. Right front tire has a slow leak; all four tires have good tread. Original rims come with the sale.
Clear title and recent smog certificate. Buyer to arrange for any shipping.
