Description

INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTION

You are viewing my 1976 Lincoln Mark IV, inished in "Dark Jade Green Metallic" (code "46"), ith the optional "Jade Luxury Group" (Roof code"LR"- Landau, ade Normande Grain, nd Interior code "DR" - Jade Leather). I am the second owner of this Mark IV, aving purchased it in 2003 from the original owner, nd it has just over 58,000 miles which I believe to be original (I cannot confirm this).

The Light Jade/Dark Jade Luxury group option was new for 1976, o as such it wasone-year-onlyoption (see photo 11 from the 1976 Mark IV brochure) on the Mark IV, ecalling that in 1977 it became the Mark V.Like all Lincoln Mark IV’s of this era, t has the 460-4V (7.5L) V8 engine (code"A"in VIN) and the C6 three-speed automatic transmission (code"U") and conventional 2.75:1 ratio 9-inch rear end (Code "2"), nbsp;

A deluxe Marti®Report shows that of the56,110Mark IV's built in 1976, nly2,477cars had Jade Luxury Group option, nd887of those cars had the "Triple" Dark Jade treatment like this one(i.e, inyl roof, ody, nd body side moldings). It was ordered in May 1976 and delivered to Bob Delancy Lincoln-Mercury in Pittsburgh PA in June 1976.

Notable standard features(working fineunless otherwisenoted)are four-wheel power disc brakes, ower steering, ower windows, ower seats (sluggish forward/back motion), utomatic temperature control AC system (intact but not blowing cold), ut-pile carpeting, emote driver mirror, hrome rocker moldings, dvanced sound-quieting materials, arpeted trunk, nd additional dash panel instrumentation (clock doesnotfunction).

Optional features (working fineunless otherwisenoted) on this Lincoln are the deep-dish aluminum wheels (including spare wheel), ruise control,power locks (do not operate),rear window defroster (conditionnotknown), ilt steering column, ppearance group, nterval wipers, ower antenna (sluggish), nd remote right hand mirror. The AM/FM Stereo radio is the one ordered from the factory per the build report (this was one of the four optional radios offered in 1976).

This Mark IV runs and drives very well. The tires are an older vintage 235/75-15 Firestone radials with excellent tread remaining but should be replaced soon.The seats only have superficial age-related wear, nbsp;The dash, oor panels, nd headliner are also in very good condition, xcept the door strap handles' leather is splitting.

The vehicle was refinished 20 years ago and still looks pretty good (there are minor discolorations on close inspection from bird droppings). All body panels, rame, nd floors are original and rust-free. The vinyl roof is original and in very good condition (See picture 10). The headlight doors operate very well and stay closed for several days (yes, ne headlight needs replacement and will be done before sale) indicating good vacuum.

The chrome external trim is intact but there are minor imperfections (dings, cratches, ther "patina", tc.) consistent with the age and actual usage. There are aftermarket attachments to each door, ith the initials of the previous owner, hat cannot be removed without damage to the paint.

I hope this Lincoln Mark IV finds a good home with an owner who appreciates it for what it really is.. a striking example of American luxury automotive history that was soon to end. All the big, ong, ersonal luxury Mark coupes would be gone by 1980 and never to return. Hopefully someone will get it and preserve it for many more years to come.

AUCTION SUCCESS CONSIDERATIONS

I have established a Buy-it-Now Price and taking reasonable offersfor this 1976 Lincoln Mark IV. Note that I reserve the right to end this listing at any time (e.g., ocal sale, tc.) at my sole discretion prior to the scheduled listing duration.

Additional information on 'Fixed Price/Best Offer" listings follows (see the Ebay Help section if not familiar with this type of listing):

I have set up this listing such thatNOoffers (except the Buy-it-Now advertised price) are automatically accepted. I will respond to all offers, ven those that are"unreasonable" in my judgement given the advertised price. So you can offer $50.00 (fifty dollars) if you want, ut transaction success is highly unlikely.

Sellers then have the option toaccept, eject,orcounterany offer received. If countered by the seller, uyer's original offer is replaced by the seller counter offer, hen buyer has the option toaccept, ounterorrejectthe seller's counter offer. There is a limit to the number offers/counteroffers that can be made by a single buyer during one listing.

Note that offers or counter offers to which there is no response by buyer and/or seller will expire without obligationafter48 hours, r until listing ends whichever is earlier.So until acted upon by buyer or seller, r until offer expiration, ffers remainvalidandbindingon buyers/sellers for up to 48 hours.

Encountering non-payingor unresponsive bidders is a very disruptive event that makes the auction experience unpleasant for both the seller and any legitimate potential buyer(s). PleaseBE SURE BEFORE YOU MAKE A PURCHASE DECISION,especially if you use the Buy-it-Now option,that you have done whatever you need to do toSTAND BEHINDthe actual OFFER(s)YOUMADEthat were recorded during the auction.
