Description

This car has had two elderly owners. so it has never been abused. but has been in long storage. so not driveable for any distance. but will drive onto a trailer with a battery and fresh gas. The car was bought new at Eagle Lincoln-Mercury in Dallas. Texas. It is a 1969 Continental Mark III with the 460 V-8. 365 horsepower. 4-barrel. dual exhaust. will really make this car move. I am listing this car for an 89-year-old friend with no computer. It is at her home. about 35 miles from here. stored in a carport. She has placed a reserve on the car. and if it is not met. the high bid will be considered. She bought the car about 25 years ago from the original owner after he became disabled and unable to drive. She has driven it a total of about 10 miles. and it has been kept in storage since. The car has not been licensed or driven since the early 1990s. and the brakes are needing work. but it will stop with the emergency brake. The gas tank has some small leaks and rust. and will need replacement or repair--there are places that do this. or I can find another tank and install it at extra cost. The car is running off of a portable gas can and it runs well. The mileage is 83. 00 and those are actual miles. I believe most of the cream-colored paint is original. The vinyl top was removed some years ago and given a quick repaint. but it really should have better paint on the roof or else given a new vinyl top. The interior is also original and unrestored. with gold cloth. dark brown carpeting. a gold or beige headliner. and dark brown padded dash. It needs a good cleaning. but should clean up nicely. I did not see any rips or torn upholstery. I did not see any dents in the body. but there are a few small rust spots showing at the very bottom of the driver's door. Trunk floor and interior floors are rock solid. The windshield is cracked. The car has all of its wheel covers. All of the tires look good and are up. The engine compartment is dirty but unmolested. The car is loaded with accessories as most of these were. including air-conditioning. separate power seats for driver and passenger. tilt steering wheel. AM/FM radio. power steering. brakes. and windows. cruise control. power trunk release. etc. I did not try the air conditioner. but I imagine it will need servicing. Doors and trunk and hood all line up nicely and open and close easily. I don't think the car has ever been wrecked or hit. Location is Ivanhoe. Texas which is about 80 miles northeast of Dallas. near Oklahoma border. I am listing the car for the owner. She has a clear title for the car. I can help load the car. but it is not advisable to drive it any distance until brakes are fixed and basic maintenance done. With a good cleaning and some maintenance. this will be a very nice car.
