You are bidding on a RARE, 1965 Lincoln Continental Convertible. Only 3,356 were ever built. This is a great, all-original Continental that is a head-turner from the suicide doors to the convertible top and she’s ready for summer cruising! Extensive work has been done to the motor and transmission to make this a very reliable driver. She is mostly original except for one repaint, exhaust and tires. The convertible top works perfectly and all of the windows work. Body is nice and straight with a very nice shiny cherry red paint job that contrasts nicely with the original white interior. Options include…power steering, power brakes, power seat, power windows, power vent windows, power top, and air conditioning. Owner took good care of this car and spent the money to repair the systems that did not work. Most things do work but there are a few things will still need servicing by the new owner.
This is a rare classic car with a reserve to protect some of its value. If the reserve is not met we will work with the high bidder to complete the sale. Bid retractions are not accepted. Retracting your bid for an incorrect amount without entering a corrected amount is a clear attempt to reveal the Reserve as well as a violation of eBay policy. We block bidders who violate this policy and also report the violation to eBay.
The Body is in great condition for its age and being enjoyed and driven over the last 50 years. All of the body panels appear to be the original ones that it was born with. The body is nice and straight and has been repainted some time in its past to the current cherry red. There are no major dings or dents on the body. The cherry red paint is in nice, shiny condition with no fading or peeling areas. This is an older repaint and the car has been driven and used and there are some flaws… a few minor chips here and there, some scrape marks on the back passenger-quarter (pictured), some rust bubbles on the hood (pictured), both rear doors have some minor rust bubbles showing through. The passenger rear door is the worst spot on the car. It appears the driver-side rocker panel may have been worked on at some point as there is evidence of some metal replacement from underneath. It is still very respectable. Some detailing to the exterior would probably clean up some of the flaws and imperfections. All of the weatherstripping is original and in fair-to-good condition.
Chrome and brite-work are original to the car. Bumpers are nice and straight and shiny. The front looks like it may have been replated some time in its past because it looks nice and shiny with little to no pitting. The rear, however, looks to be original and does have pitting and some peeling chrome and surface rust (pictured). All of the stainless trim appears to be present on the car and is in nice, shiny condition with a few pieces having some dents. Headlight bezels look nice and shiny. Grille looks to be in good shape. Door handles and mirrors do not show any pitting and are in nice condition. All of the glass is good.
The interior is all-original for the most part. All of the windows and convertible top work as they should. Seats are all-original and in good shape without any rips or tears but they do have marks and stains in a couple of locations. Door panels are original also. No major rips or tears. These have some stains and discoloration too. Detailing the interior will probably clean up a lot and make it more presentable. The aluminum components on the doors (door handles, pulls, window switch control plates) are pitted. The wood trim on the door panels are in fair condition. Some of the lacquer is peeling off of them. All of the gauges work except for the amp gauge is missing and was bypassed by a previous owner and the speedometer works but the odometer does not. Dash pad and dash are in great condition with no cracks or damage. Steering wheel is in excellent condition with no cracks. The horn does work. The directional and headlights work. Wipers do not work. Convertible top is in great condition with no rips or tears or stains. The plastic window is in like-new, crystal-clear condition. The current owner had the power seat motor replaced and the power window switches rebuilt.
Drivetrain appears to be original. The owner had a local shop pull the 430ci 4-barrel V8 in 2012 from the car due to excessive leaks. Mechanics found the heads needed to be rebuilt so they were sent out for repair. The rest of the engine was inspected and found to be good and resealed up. The rebuilt heads were installed along with a new water pump and carburetor. All were re-installed and tested for proper operation. Also, at the same time the transmission was rebuilt. The car is an excellent driver. The motor runs great, idles and drives without issues and makes no noises or smoke. Has plenty of power. Transmission shifts as it should. Brakes are in excellent condition. Steers and brakes the way it should. Owner serviced all of the components as needed. A list of the new parts include: U-joints, all ball joints, outer tie rods, control arm bushings, stabilizer links, strut bushings, steering center link, power steering gearbox, rear wheel cylinders, ignition system, electric cooling fans, exhaust, tires, master cylinder and booster.
The Undercarriage is in great condition. Frame is nice and solid. Floors look to be original with no patches but they have been undercoated or came with factory undercoating. All suspension pieces look nice. Do not see any evidence of structural damage, rust issues or any major repairs. New exhaust recently installed along with the new super-wide whitewall radial tires.
Other info: The air conditioning compressor and some of the components have been removed. Owner has some of the parts that will go with the car.
Power door locks do not work.
Car comes with 1 set of factory keys and clear Ohio title showing 35,321 ACTUAL miles. The odometer shows approximately 38,000 miles but is not working.
Owner has all of the receipts for the repairs listed above which will go with the car.

I have made my best effort to accurately represent the car based on my expertise as a vehicle builder, what I have observed in evaluating it and preparing it for sale, and what I have been told by the owner, but this is the extent of my knowledge. Please ask questions before bidding! This is being solid AS IS with no warranty or guarantees and is up to the buyer to verify any and all info listed above in the description! This vehicle is also for sale locally. You are welcome to arrange a viewing of this vehicle. Again, this is a classic vehicle that has been driven and enjoyed. It’s not perfect or a museum piece so there may be minor imperfections in the body, brite work and glass. Anything to note is listed above.
