For Sale: Selling my 1974 Lincoln Continental Town Car - it is an original car, I am the second owner, it was purchased new at Netzel Lincoln in Kankakee, IL (out of business now), and it has 60250 original miles on it. I am selling it without reserve and on a one time listingas other projects here at our farm have taken priority.*****
Body: Really pretty blue original color and paint and the body is in very nice shape. Paint on the hood and trunk lid is thin, but presentable while rest of paint is shiny and nice. There is only rust just starting on the lower part of the passenger front fender near the lower chrome molding and a few bubbles along the fender edge near the hood on the passenger side - minor. Body is very presentable, all jams and sills are solid, car was Ziebarted when it was new, trunk and hood edges are nice, and there are no issues with floors or trunk at all. There is a long scratch down the driver's side from front fender to back door near the top - someone keyed the car years back when it was parked at a store - scratch is not rusty and nothing but waxing has been done to it. There is also a scratch through the paint on the lower front passenger fender front, minor, but wanted to mention it.Car was kept inside all its life, but it will need a new vinyl top as the top just deteriorated away and is currently about half there. There is no rust to the top that is exposed, there is some rust starting under the vinyl top near the rear window lower corners, but easily repaired when a top is put back on. Otherwise, car is very nice and solid.*****
Interior: Car is fully loaded, is with leather seats, and still has its working AM/FM 8 Track radio. Seats and carpets are very nice, has a floor mat set, rear seats are super, and headliner is clean and nice. Nice woodgrain touches on the interior, a huge ashtray - never used or smoked inand a glove box able to be lived in. One woodgrain molding at the base of the front window inside is peeling and rusty - the window frame and supports are not rusty, just the molding at the edge of the dash needs replacing. Thechrome bezel on theglove box lock is missing, but lock still works etc.... Car is very clean as shown and original.*****
Drivetrain: Car hasthe original 460 V8 in it, autotrans, air, power steering and brakes, and power option windows, seats, and doors. Caralso has a clock, map reading lights, warning lights etc...Mechanically, it has been serviced as needed since new, I knew the first owners well and knew the car - I bought it about 10 years ago. Car has recent Kumho radials on it all around (about 500 miles ago), new exhaust, a new Edelbrock replacement carb for the Ford one (runs much nicer with this one), a new starter, a new safety switch, and a recent tune up, oil change, and fluid service. Car also has a new battery and filters. Car runs out fine, air works, and it kind of is like driving your living room furniture around as it is a plush ride. Car currently needs window motor work on the drivers front window and one of the rear windows (these windows don't go down). the passenger door vent glass is fine, but it will not move up and down, thus the cardboard there keeping it sealed up (might need a window gear replacement). Headlights work fine on the car, but driver's side is a little lazy at time and moves open and closes a bit slower. *****
Selling at no reserve with a fair price - vehicle is an antique car - so selling as is, where is and with no warranty, no guarantee, and with no return possibility. Tires, battery and new carb were about $1500 alone that were recently replaced on the car. Car is located in Watseka, IL (in Central Illinois) in a rural area - I have a clear title in my name. After the sale, payment for the full sale price by Paypal is fine within 3 days of sale's end. Car can sit here for upto 30 days waiting for pickup. After 30 days, car will be relisted and no return of payment. I just want the car to go to a new home that will do something with it, we have had it stored heresince my parents passed and it has been used monthly until the vinyl top came apart. Thanks for looking!*****
