This Mark IV is the “Designer Series – Cartier”. The paint color is Dove Grey (in very good condition) and detailed with a red and white pin stripe. The interior is Dove Grey leather seating and has the "deep-dish" wheels. The vehicle has the 460-4V (7.5L) V8 engine, the C6 three-speed automatic transmission, and the standard 2.75:1 rear differential. Has 79,860 original miles.
1976 was last model year of the Mark IV series (1972 to 1976) before giving way to the Mark V’s in 1977 (the “knife-edge” designs). The classic “long hood, short deck” profile, impressive front grille, and the iconic “tire-hump” in back made it something to behold on the road. Well-equipped from the factory with a host of standard luxury, performance, and safety features, the Mark IV was the ultimate in American-made personal luxury coupes back in their day.
Standard equipment included the only engine available in the 1976 Mark IVs, the big 460 cubic-inch V8. Other notable standard features were four wheel, power disc brakes, power steering, power windows and seats, automatic temperature control A/C, cut-pile carpeting, remote driver mirror, Landau vinyl roof, chrome rocker moldings, advanced sound-quieting materials, carpeted trunk, and additional dash panel instrumentation. This car of course has all that.
Optional features on this Mark IV are forged aluminum wheels, power door locks, power remote trunk release, tilt steering column, interval wipers, power antenna, reclining passenger seat, and the AM/FM “Quadrasonic-8” eight track Stereo system.
Everything on the car works including the Cartier clock and radio power antenna.
This Mark IV runs and drives great. Smooth and powerful, the big 460 effortlessly moves this Mark down the road and up to speed. Feels like riding on a cloud. The original carburetor was rebuilt in 2013. Tires look brand new. Air conditioning has been converted and blows cold.
The leather seats are in great condition. The dash and headliner are in excellent shape, and the original carpet is fully intact.
Sale comes with a great collection of 8 track music cassettes.
There are three tiny rust spots and dings on passenger side molding, see photos. Not sure if High Beam headlights work properly.
