This is the one you've been waiting for... I am a collector who has owned dozens of these convertible Lincolns, and this is the nicest one I've ever owned...or even seen. It is a stunning example of an original numbers matching suicide door Lincoln. It will steal the show and win awards at every event. They only made about 3k of these cars and there is estimated to be less than 100 left on the road. Only a handful of those are in fully restored condition, and I really don't think any can match up to this incredible car. Stand out among all the boring mustangs and camaros. We went to the Turkey Rod Run last year and out of 6000+ cars we had the only Suicide Door Lincoln Convertible. Over $30,000 (with receipts) was spent on a complete restoration in 2011-12, and that's not including the price of the car. This car was restored to showroom condition with no expense spared. Every single piece of trim is there and in perfect condition. All weatherstripping, from the window felts to the little rubber splash guards that go behind the corners of the bumpers, are there and in great shape. It's the little details like that which separate the nice cars, from the truly exceptional collector's items. Another such example is the small brace that connects the fenders to the frame located above each tire. These are almost always damaged or missing due to tire blow outs over the years. These are in perfect condition on this car. I'm probably getting too technical, but I know these cars very well and theses are some of the little indicators of how well this one has been preserved. This car is rust free inside and out. The body is straight. The frame is perfect. The floor pans are perfect.

I have sold several classic cars on ebay and I never use words like "perfect" or "rust free" so I'm not just sugar coating things here. Of course, everything is not perfect. There are a couple minor imperfections in the paint including one small ding in the trunk. The cruise control isn't working, the clock doesn't work, and the air doesn't blow cold. The A/C controls function as they should. It blows strong through the dash vents, defrost vents, and the floor. The heater works as it should and blows very hot. I have a huge folder with receipts and paperwork from the 60's to the present. Original owner's manual with purchase info. Lincoln Continental Owner's Club membership from 60's 70's 80's... The well documented history on this car is incredible.

Every emblem is where it should be and in excellent condition. The bumpers are also in excellent condition. The grille is beautiful. The original wheel covers look fantastic. The steel wheels were sand blasted and painted to match the car. All four tires are brand new. The body is straight as an arrow. Everything lines up just right with proper gaps. The doors don't sag at all. The bumpers are in line as they should be. All of the bulbs, headlight, tail light, turn signal, are new and work as they should. All of the interior lights, dash and doors, work as they should as well. The carpet is new throughout, including the trunk. All of the original trim is in the trunk, which is pretty rare. The door panels are a typical problem area with these cars, but all four of these are in excellent condition. There are no cracks in any of them and they are all secure and tight. The little trim pieces on the handles that are usually missing are all there and in perfect shape. The seats have been professionally redone with the correct grain leather and hand stitched. All seat belts are there and work properly. The power seat works. The radio works, but has been disconnected and a modern stereo placed in the console area. That can easily be removed for the more original look. New speakers are installed in the dash and behind the seat where they should be, as well as two others in the kick panels for better sound. Oh, and the seats have new foam so they are very comfortable.

Mechanically, this car needs nothing. All of the hoses and belts are new. New fuel lines, fuel pump, brake lines, brake calipers, master cylinder, radiator, battery, carburetor, vacuum lines, wipers, new exhaust, etc etc... It runs very strong and smooth. It starts every time and I have never had the slightest issue since I've owned it. It has new shocks and many new suspension parts and ball joints, stabilizer bushings, strut rod bushings, etc are great and make it handle and ride like a dream. It's so smooth and easy to drive. There are no funny noises or vibrations at all. This is one of those rare classic cars that you can just toss the keys to your wife and not worry about anything at all. In fact, my wife took it on a 300 mile cruise to see her mom last week. She says it drives better than her new car. It will go 90mph down the highway like its riding on rails. It starts, runs, steers, and stops like a new car.

If you know these cars, you know the big concern is all the electronics. The windows, top, switches, relays etc. If you are considering buying one with any window or top issues... Don't. They are very complicated and most shops won't touch them. Even Hagerty suggests to spend the extra money for one on which everything works. This car has never been messed with by anyone. It only takes one person over the past 50 yrs who didn't know these cars to try and fix it by jumping or splicing wires etc to create an electrical nightmare. This one is unmolested and all original. It has all the original switches and relays, and they all work correctly. That is rare and very sought after. All of the window switches work and all of the windows go up and down smoothly. All of the glass is very clear and in like new condition. The only non original thing besides the radio is the remote I've had installed to operate the top. It still operates from the switch on the dash and the switch on the rear fender as it should. But you can also run the entire top cycle from start to finish by simply pressing one button on the remote. This is a really cool feature that always draws a crowd. Watching the top function is already amazing and people watch in awe when it's going, but when you're 300ft away and it does it by itself, it blows people's minds. We love to push the button when coming out of a store so that by the time we get to the car there is a crowd watching and waiting to see who owns it. Be sure to allow extra time for questions and conversation because you can't go to the gas station without people coming up and talking about the car. It's a real show stopper.

This car is very reliable and could easily be a daily driver that also wins car shows on the weekends. If you've ever driven in one of these you know what a joy they are to drive, even when they aren't as impeccable as this one. If you haven't had the pleasure, you owe it to yourself to experience the feeling of cruising in one of these works of art. There's really nothing like it. The nostalgic feeling you get when behind the wheel. It's so quiet and smooth when you're riding with the top down all you hear is the honks and people yelling "nice car!" We went to an Orlando Magic game and literally parked next to a Lamborghini and I think the guy was upset because the Lincoln got way more attention. Everywhere you go, you are guaranteed to have the coolest car. These have always been my favorite cars and I have been lucky enough to own several. I have a custom 64 with over $140k invested. I'd actually rather sell that one and keep this, but I know I'll lose too much on the 64 and I'm just not ready to take that hit yet. lol. If you've been wanting one of these cars, this is the one to get. You won't see another like this. It's better than any savings account. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own an iconic work of art that will only continue to go up in value.

Whoever is lucky enough to be the next owner of this magnificent car is going to be very happy with it. I've sold several classic cars on ebay without any issues so you can bid with confidence. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a time to come see it. Cars tend to look better in pictures so I recommend coming to see it in person. Be prepared to fall in love with this one though. I'm basically retired so anytime is good for me. I will also help with shipping by driving the car to any freight company or airport within 50 miles. Or I'll pick you up at the airport if you want to fly in and drive it home. I am 100% confident this car will take you anywhere you want to go. Fly in from California and have an epic road trip home. You can enjoy this car for several years, then sell it for thousands more than you paid. What other investment can you make like that. I promise you won't be disappointed. Don't hesitate and be the guy kicking yourself for years to come about letting your dream car get away.
