Description

1941 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL COUPE MARK I I am theThird Ownerof this Classicsince 1973. Second Owner had Car 1950 to 1973. Hereplaced theV12 Engine in 1955 with 1953 Oldsmobile Rocket V8 & 4 Speed Hydramatic Transmission like many Owners of these Cars did with the OHV Engines when theycame out in the 1950's.I replaced that with a 1969 Lincoln 460 CID V8 & C6 Automatic in 1991(Both Rebuilt before Installation)and Added Power Steering and Power Brakes with Front Disks. Rear End is from a1960 Thunderbird that had the 430 Engine Option and converted to a 12 Volt System. I installed a New Wiring Harness at this time. Car was sold new in Chicago but found its way to California by 1950. Was Gray from the Factory but has been Black since at Least 1950. About half of the Interior is Factory Original, especially the Head Liner and Sun Visors. I did not change anything if it wasn't necessary.Had to redo the Seats in the 1970's and Carpet in the 1980's. Second Owner redid part of the Door Panels during his ownership. No History known from 1941 to 1950 except the Original Owner was named Nelson. History known from 1950 to the Present. Have copy of 1941 Build Sheet from the Ford Archives. Car Drives great and has been in California since 1950. Has been driven as far South as San Diego to as far North as Sacramento. Has received several Awards in the Driver Classes at Car Shows and First in Pre-Primary in 1974 & 1978 and First in Primary in 1975 at LCOC National Western Meets. Original Radio and Clock still work (had serviced in the 1970's). Radio has the Foot Control to change Channels and Mute Sound. I have a Cassette Tape Player mounted under the dash with speakers so I can play 1940's Music and Radio Programs. Easy to remove if you do not want it in car. Has a Factory under SeatWater Floor Heater under the Driver and an after market Heater under the Passenger Side installed by the Second Owner. I currently have an Electric Clock installed that came from a 1966 Mustang, but have the Original Clock that can be put back in place.Gauges work too. I have the OriginalSteering Wheel for Car Complete but needs to be restored again. Has the Optional front & rear Center Bumper Guards which very few of these cars came with. Has a new replacement Gas Tank installed a few years ago. WWW "Firestone" Tires. New Battery. Additional Information available upon request. (NOTE: If sold out of California, I reserve the right to hold on to the Vintage 1941 License Plates, but they will go with the Car if purchased by California Collector). In 1941, only 850 Coupes were built of which only about 300+ are still known to exist. People wanting a 1941 have even rebuilt Parts Cars or Junk cars into Classics or Resto-mods just to have one and it would cost more than my asking Price to rebuild one like that! Just saying!
