Description

1960 Lincoln Continental Mark V 2 door coupe breezeway window in great shape Monster Lincoln Coupe! Red leather. red carpets. a fun sporty color combination in a big luxury car! 94. 00 miles. Outside and mechanical: The body is good and solid. rust free car. no body rust. just the usual surface on the chassis. no major dents. just paint chips and a few light scratches throughout. It has had one repaint some time ago. Roof and horizontal surfaces are good and flat. The bumpers. chrome and all other trim are in very good condition. nothing missing. just one small dent on the rear bumper just below the taillight and some bends on the bottom of the rear bumper from a bad jacking job. and an old lady scrape on the right rear. The side hash marks are pitted. It drives very well. starts and idles fine. It needs a new exhaust system but the hole has been covered. so it is not excessively loud right now. What works: Power seat works 4 of 6 ways. the car drives well. windows all work except left rear side window and power vents. rear breezeway window works fine. gauges all work including speedometer. lights all work. wipers (vacuum. remember. so slow). turn signals. so the car is complete for the road. New battery one year ago. What doesn’t work: A/C parts are all there and the compressor is not locked up. but there is no Freon in the system and thus does not blow cold. We have not tried to charge it up to see if there were leaks. we could not find any Freon right now. Radio and clock do not work. Inside: THIS AUCTION INCLUDES 3 YARDS OF THE CORRECT SMS AUTO FABRICS NOS REPLACEMENT FABRIC FOR THE SEATS! The front seat has some rips in the fabric. mostly at the seam with the leather and has the usual cracking in the leather. but the back seat looks like it has never been sat in! The door panels and sill plates are excellent. The carpet is in excellent shape in the rear. and poor shape in the front. there are multiple spots where the carpet is worn through and there are bad stains. The gauge cluster is excellent. no hazy or cracked plastic. the steering wheel is the same including the plastic center. The dash has shrunk in a few places. pulling away from the hard edges of the dash. with one small crack. one piece of chrome trim is missing at the left edge of the dash. and the soft portion over the glove box has sagged some. The headliner is excellent. no rips. cracks. droops. but it is a bit discolored along the bottom edge where it hits the window trim. It has cool vintage seatbelts with a retractor for the door side. both sides. Options: Standard features included a 6-way power seat. tinted glass. and power vent windows. Inside also features many luxury conveniences all available at the touch of a button. including the retractable “breezeway” rear window to give an open car like ventilation. History: This car is being sold by an individual and not a dealer. I bought this car in January of 2006 it to complete my “Monster Lincoln Matched Set” (as part of my 20+ Lincoln collection). I also have a 58 convertible and a 59 formal sedan. and found that not only is storage getting tight. I spend all my time in the other two; I just haven’t been driving the ’60 coupe. so I am selling it to someone who will drive it and enjoy it. I have paperwork that the car was in Kansas in the early 80’s and in Texas in the late 80’s and early 90’s. and that the mileage was 73. 00 in 1988. The guy I bought it from was the guy in Texas who bought it in 1988. I do not know the history of the car before 1982. The title says actual mileage. Funny thing about that. there is a typo on the title saying I bought it with 74. 00 miles. not 94. 00. so it looks like I have driven the car 20. 00 miles in 8 years instead of not driving it much at all. The 1960 Continental Mark V coupe sold new for $6. 98. and weighed 5. 70 pounds; only 1. 61 of these behemoths were made. The wheelbase is 131”. and overall length is 227”. It came with a 430 cubic inch V8 engine producing 375 horsepower. The car is sold as is where is; check my feedback for confidence on my description. Buyer is responsible for pickup in or shipping from downtown Indianapolis. Buyer must provide a $500. 00 deposit via paypal within 3 days after auction closes. Full payment due within 2 weeks of close of auction or upon pickup. whichever is sooner. Vehicle must be picked up within 30 days after close of auction; pre-paid storage is negotiable after 30 days if you are having trouble finding a shipper. I have only driven this car around town a bit. I have driven it every day and put 130+ miles on it this past week to make sure it will make it to the muffler or tire shop with no issues after you get it home. but I cannot guarantee that it would make a long distance drive. especially since the tires are old. buyer is responsible for transportation whether on a trailer or being driven. If you. a friend. or a representative is in town for the Mecum Indy auction. feel free to ask for an inspection. the car is only 2 miles from the auction site.
