Description

Up for auction is a 1938 V12 Lincoln K LeBaron convertible coupe with side mounts, umble seat, olf bag door, nd a trunk. The car is original and never restored with an exception of a repaint with a maroon color, he original was yellow. The car runs and drives beautifully with mechanical brakes and a vacuum assist that is overhauled along with the whole brake system with new shoes and turned drums. A valve job was performed with new valves and ground seats and a complete tune up to make the V12 purrs like a kitten and no smoke (mileage is 63141 possibly original). The gas tank was sealed and is clean. The car is very very rare and believed to be the only one in 1938 with such options so don’t confuse it with the other two door convertible which has a rear full seat, ot as beautiful as this one, researched the net for quite a while to locate one like this and didn’t read or seen any 1938 convertible coupe, ou do your own search if interested. The car is so original in every department (except the paint and reupholstered seat cushion) with the original convertible top material (soiled, nd the plastic rear window is intact but hazy and could clear up with a good polish, ee pictures), oor panels, nd the complete real black leather upholstery as well as the original carpet. It got an outside trunk (missing the lock) that has a strong pair of foldable brackets just in case the trunk is not needed (see pictures). All gauges, ights, potlight, nd horn work except for the clock, ipers, nd radio which I never tried to turn on. Speedometer lens is broken which is a regular thin glass which I have and go with the car. New set of WWW tires has less than 200 miles on them add to the beauty of this historical car. The body, oors, runk, umble seat led, ood, n-body trunk, nd chassis frame are all free of rust along with all wood parts that are free of rot or misalignment, ody is very solid. All of the doors and trunk open and shut smoothly with no sags and function as they should and sound like new with that distinctive vintage click, long with the rumble seat and golf bag door. The paint is nice from five feet out and has flows and could use some polishing to improve it but never to a show condition. The large V12 fires with no hassle and pulls the heavy car with no strain or smoke and operates smoothly that you have to listen to it to hear it run. It has three-gears box that jumps out of first gear some times, ut I have no problem starting with second gear every time and the shifting is nice all the way (see video at U.T.) The car is tight and drives smoothly for that vintage. An auxiliary electrical fuel pump was tastefully added and controlled by a push button switch to help against cases of possible vapor locks. The chrome is very nice on this car and newly chromed six hubcaps with new medallions were added. Chrome found in the convertible top mechanism need to be polished, hough. New exhaust system was installed with chrome tip. All fluids were changed, o brake fluid here, ol and a new six volt Optima battery. Front right glass delaminated slightly at the bottom. Windshield rubber is very hard (but seals rain water) and has paint overspray and need to be changed as well as bumper arms rubber. Running board mats are very nice with no rips, ear, r scuffs. As you can see from the pictures, here is a newly rebuilt and chromed pair of tripp lights which are controlled by a fog light switch at the bottom of the dashboard. Right door lock knob is missing, tolen at a car show, hrrrr, ut you have the left one as a guide to machine the knob out of brass. Windows operate smoothly with nice glass, hrome frames, nd new weather seals. All leather upholstery on the car is surviving original leather in a very good condition (except seat cushion that is reupholstered in real black leather) which signifies an easy previous life for this historic car with no signs of abuse. This car has very scarce literature on the market but I managed to have some reference materials that show specifications and ways of putting things together in the car. Please put in mind that this rare car is an original car and not a restored or a show car and it has some little dents and paint flows. I have a clear Ohio title that was transferred to my name. All original keys come with the car for the switch, oors, runk, nd golf bag door. You are welcome to come and see the car only during the auction and by appointment, o call me on: 571-315-6151 or email me.

I reserve the right to end this auction at any time as it is advertised locally.

This car is presented here for the serious collector, o day dreamers please, or one week only and it will not be offered after that at all, ’ll keep it. So, ou have one chance at it and I will not talk to any one after the auction ends. Please observe the payment guidelines for this auction and be ready to finish the deal accordingly.
