1966 Lincoln Continental 2 door hardtop for sale by owner. This is an outstandingLincoln in absolutely remarkable condition.
This car was bought new in Van Nuys California. In the mid '80's, t was placed into long term indoor storage. It is astonishing how well this car has fared. Best of all, t has only 53,000 miles original, nd documented. Seldom will you find a car of this vintage, his well preserved. It's never been "monkeyed" with, r fixed up. All the original integrity and value remains.
This car has not required anything rebuilt, etouched, eplaced, epainted, r messed around with. The factory Lincoln Continental originality has been kept wherever possible. Please understand that some wearable items had to be changed. The original tires, or example, ad a good amount of tread left but, ust weren't up to standards. Some rubber vacuum lines and hoses were replaced, long with filters, tc. I've photographed their removal, nd replacement with new ones. The battery is new, long with anything else deemed required. When the original tires were removed, e found stickers on the rims with the original shipping information. The stickers didn't look 50 years old. Instead, hey looked like they were just placed weeks ago. The overall condition and originality of this car hasn't been surpassed by anything that I've ever witnessed. All the seals, eather strips, lastic, and rubberare infabulous condition. Theall show as new. The leather is soft, upple, nd shows no wear whatsoever. Most remarkable to me are the lower trims, ncluding wheel well mouldings. There isn't so much as any dulling in the shine. They look like they were just taken off the showroom floor. Even the screws that hold them into place look brand spanking new. The engine is strong and smooth. This is a luxury cruiser. Smaller than a Cadillac, nd very powerful. It has factory front disc brakes. And, hey are dual piston. THIS IS A REMARKABLE CAR. It would take a long time to find a cleaner original Lincoln Continental than this.
I have another Continental badge for the passenger rear quarter panel. I also have a trunk key lock cover. There was 1 spot of rust on this car, nd that's it. It was up higher on the edge of the glass, nd I believe it was a bad spot in the metal from the factory. It was very isolated. This spotwas treated, nd cannot be seen at all. The car may need mufflers at some point. They sound fine but, ou can hear a bit of corrosion shaking in there at times. Also, he right/rear brake occasionally drags a bit if the car has sat for a while, nd until the car is driven a few feet. I will have them adjusted. Probably not worth mentioning but, eeping forthright. Finally, here is one small ding on the passenger side behind the door. It can be seen in the photo's. I have the paintless dent repair people scheduled to come out and take care of this. The paint on this car is quite good, nd has a nice sheen. I had a professional detailer spend 2 1/2 days polishing it thoroughly, nd am very impressed with how it looks. The sky was stormy the day the pictures were taken, nd just do not do it justice. You would not guess it is the original paint. It issuper smooth and very glossy.
Our reserve is set very reasonable, o ensure a sale. It's under 7,000. It'sprofessionally evaluatedconsiderably higher. I'm hoping to have a smooth successful sale, nd recoup a portion of any loss through the exchange rate. This car is available to the US or Europe only, or US money. If you reside in Canada, nd want to bid, ou will have to contact me first. I am looking for a sale in the US, n US currency, ot Canadian. I will help with shipping, sing a Canadian company. This should save you about 25 percent. That's because the Cdn dollar is very low. It's at about 75 cents US. Because the car is older than 1981, o import restrictions apply. There are no special forms, o duties, o customs, o nothing. It's exempt from absolutely everything. It can go from Canada to the US just as easily as a car from state to state.
We enthusiastically look forward to a successful sale, nd enjoyable process. Please do not hesitate to send any questions. We'll do our absolute best to accommodate you, ikely over-extending to make up for our relative inexperience.
Have fun bidding, nd have a great day!
