I buy and sell for a living. I'm essentially one of those guys from "American Pickers" on TV. When I went to this estate sale looking for deals on antiques, never expected to go away with a car. But when you're handed a deal, ou take it! Now it's time to pass it on to you!
This 1979 Lincoln Versailles was top-of-its-class upon its production. They were never a great seller, nd there aren't many left out there! It's truly a collector's piece that is destined to go up in value! This car was owned by an elderly man who has since passed away and all the belongings were liquidated at public auction. That's where I come in. The car sat for years (9-10 to be exact) and had gunk built up in the gas tank. They couldn't get it started at the auction. I bought the vehicle and had it towed to my mechanic who gave it the one-over. We ended up doing quite a bit of work, ncluding a brand new gas tank, loat, ndfuel sending unit. In addition, e greased up the front end, hanged the oil, ut on new wiper blades, ressure washed the engine and topped off the windshield washer fluid. It now drives like a dream! It's important to note this vehicle is carbureted, nd takes somepatience to start. She's "cold-natured" and you've got to love on her a bit. It's as good as the work you're willing to put in it- and when it comes to vehicles, here's always room for improvement!
Bottom line, took a barn-find covered in dirt and dust- and got it running. I drove her around town and she handles great! This Lincoln is LOADED with features! Some of them include:
-A/C
-Power seats
-Power locks (need some work)
- Leather interior
- Cassette radio
-Cruise control
- Heated mirrors
- Lit displays
- 4-wheel disc brakes
- Bucket seats
- More!
She's blue on blue with blue leatherinterior, classic combination! Overall body condition is pretty good, here are some small rust spots, ight scratches, nd one or two small dings. It was stored under a carport, o it avoided years of sun and harsh snowfalls. The interior coating over thepanelingis flaking in a few places. The seats are in GREAT shape! Like most cloth-ceilingvehicles from that time, he fabric is falling downin places. Odometer reads 82,317 and I believe those are original. I found hand written papers logging gas mileage from as early 2003, he previous owner cared for this car meticulously! I encourage you to look at photos and contact me with questions. I will do my best to respond promptly!
